The Welsh Gatehouse is a dog friendly property that welcomes up to 3 well behaved dogs (that will not chew and will not toilet inside). We've a fully enclosed garden. If you are bringing a well behaved dog with you there is a £30 supplement, (£50 for 2 dogs, £70 for 3 dogs). There is a £300 Good Housekeeping Deposit to pay if you are bringing a dog(s). We will be sending you a form to fill in, which tells us about your dog(s). These additional payments for the dog(s) will be requested outside booking.comThis property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties. Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. The property is so different, it's like nowhere we have stayed before. The area is so peaceful at night you only hear the birds no traffic.

There was nothing I didn't like.

""King" and "Queen" of a beautiful castle for a few days..... simply magical!"

The accommodation exceeded our expectations in every possible way! It was unique, enchanting, cosy, magical....the list is endless. The converted 13th century castle gatehouse is well appointed, with everything you could possibly need on a long weekend away. Even on a rainy day, there are DVD films to watch, and CDs playing beautiful lute music in keeping with the medieval surroundings. The wood burner adds extra charm, warmth and atmosphere with a chance to light a crackling log fire in the evenings. The welcome basket is generous and includes wine, essentials and treats! I don't think we will ever find another place like it, truly exceptional! Thank you to the owners for sharing their beautiful home with others.

Absolutely nothing. The steep, narrow, spiral stairs are a bit of a challenge but that's to be expected in a property like the Welsh Gatehouse.

An amazing building, like something out of a fairytale. Property had everything you needed, excellent cooking equipment etc. Perfect retreat and lively comfy sofa to snuggle up on in front of the log burner. Highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
