The Welsh Gatehouse is a dog friendly property that welcomes up to 3 well behaved dogs (that will not chew and will not toilet inside). We've a fully enclosed garden. If you are bringing a well behaved dog with you there is a £30 supplement, (£50 for 2 dogs, £70 for 3 dogs). There is a £300 Good Housekeeping Deposit to pay if you are bringing a dog(s). We will be sending you a form to fill in, which tells us about your dog(s). These additional payments for the dog(s) will be requested outside booking.comThis property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties. All very well organised and communication was excellent. Lovely welcome pack. Beautiful location and really unique, quirky property. Walking distance into Chepstow, scenic and relaxing walk.

Tiny niggle, the bathroom could do with a little tlc but that didn't spoil our stay.

"Really relaxing, cosy and peaceful stay at the gatehouse! Really helpful and welcoming host!"

We had such a relaxing time at the gatehouse, a really unique stay. The fire was so cosy and the view from the room were fab, especially as it was bonfire night! A really lovely welcome pack on arrival too which was appreciated. Such a comfy bed, I slept like a log! Felt a world away from our hectic lives!

Minor suggestions include a frying pan (Couldn't find one) and the bathroom was a 'wetroom' did the job but was basic.

"Fun and 'different' place to stay"

The main living area is amazing, and views from the roof are lovely. We enjoyed using the fire, it was a very cosy, comfortable place to stay.

We found it difficult to use the bathroom with the step for the toilet, and thought the overall look in there was not to the standard of the rest of the property.

Wonderful, historic, romantic location. The view from the roof is worth the climb - we watched a skein of geese fly over as the sun set. The Gatehouse oozes character and is unique. Very private but still within easy distance of pubs, restaurants and things to do. The bed is in a raised area above the living room - a bit of a climb, but atmospheric and fun, provided that you are agile. Easy check in using the key safe.

The stairs are narrow and steep. The shower/ washing facilities are adequate but not luxurious. In hot weather the sleeping area can get very hot.
