The Anchorage - sea views and beach on doorstep

Beautiful fittings and every facility you could need.

For us (not a bother for everyone) a downstairs loo would have been handy.

A lovely cottage with excellent furnishings. It was perfect and fulfilled all expectations.

The property was perfect and the owners so very helpful. We had been let down by another property arriving to find people already in it and we booked The Anchorage late. Within a couple of hours the place was ready for us, even with freshly backed scones and a cake. I am so glad we found The Anchorage. The house is a great size. It is spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable. The views of the sea are fabulous. It is really well located to explore Northumberland.

Well positioned close to amenities lovely views and walks safe for letting doggy roam free. Roomy house with all facilities necessary Clean lovely fresh bedding Efficient heating system so nice and cosy Quality furniture and accessories.

While this is my own fault I didn’t enquire there is no downstairs loo and having only one toilet when you’re in your 70’s is uncomfortable and hard work as we used to living in a bungalow with 2 bathrooms, it was as I said my fault for not enquiring but has taught me a lesson when we book anywhere again will make sure either 2 toilets however in this property maybe the large hallway cupboard could be converted into a loo don’t think would be such a big job or extend back of kitchen and put one there so there are options and I think looking forward this will be classed as a necessity but otherwise very nice property.

The property itself is exceptional. Extremely well equipped and has been decorated to the highest of standards. Inside and outside it has everything a holiday home should have. Properties often say beachfront, but there’s a ramp or a distance to travel. Here you open the front door, cross a road and you’re in the beach car park. Easy access to every part of Amble. We are hoping to re book. Can’t recommend enough. Excellent communication from your host Jen too.

Excellent location, warm and cosy. A minor problem was very quickly resolved with easy communications. Great views too!

I’d have loved a washing machine!

The house was beautiful. The way it has been restored and designed with high quality finishings. The house was fabulously located with walks from the door to the beaches, dunes and town. Our little dog loved it. Amble is a clean and friendly place and somewhere we would defintely return to. Short drive out to Alnwick, Alnmouth and Craster, all worthy of visiting. The beds and bedding were good quality as well as the dyson hairdryer to use. Nothing is spared. The host was contactable and very accommodating. We were provided with a fabulous pack of goodies.

The sink in the bathroom is a little delicate with no way of closing off water. So if a wash is wanted, then water is kept on. The padlock on the back gate was rusty so we were unable to use this entry. Shame as a lovely little courtyard we could have used when taking our dog out.

Proximity to beach. Decor. Comfortable bed.
