The Anchorage - sea views and beach on doorstep

Excellent position, clean and dog friendly. Very quirky with lots of interesting furniture. Only a short walk to everything beach , shops, marina cafes and bars

Nothing but struggled initially with the lock box

Well appointed and great location

No wardrobes for hanging clothes. No microwave containers with covers. Windows need washing. Outdoor space a bit too small

It was very quirky and there was lots of space. The close proximity to the beach and safe water for swimming was perfect. Easy reach of shops and cafes.

The house was beautifully spacious and clean. It was also furnished to a high standard with good quality appliances and a great shower. The location was fantastic with everything on the doorstep. The cake and scones were a real unexpected treat and DELICIOUS 😋

If the property had extra seating the facilities would have been 10/10. I only scored 9 as it would have been lovely to have another small sofa. At present there is a 2 seater sofa and two (comfortable) chairs. 5 people would not be able to curl up to watch tv in the evening without 1 person sitting on the floor (or pulling over a dining chair).

Location was perfect. Well equipped kitchen. Welcome scones and cake were delicious.

Could have done with an extra bathroom but understandable there was only one considering property size and layout. Bathroom door was a little strange and the lock was a bit awkward. Maybe a normal door would be better. Bit of a damp smell in entrance hall and understairs cupboard. Only 4 bath towels for 5 people but daughter brought her own so didn't feel the need to raise the issue.

Quirky little home, kitchen has everything you need, except a whisk would.be a great addition, also the lack of a washing machine is quite frustrating. There is a Launderette at the end of the street, but it would be far more convenient to have one in the property, I personally do not want to have to go the the launderette, especially if it is raining, it would have been a great help to have had a washing machine in the property, you can then get your washing sorted in the evening or in the morning before you go out for the day we have stayed in lots of holiday homes, as our daughter lives in Northumberland and we visit a lot, this is the first house that hasn't had the benefit of a washing machine. The Dyson hairdryer is a lovely luxury, but I would rather have had a washing machine. However, the house is very comfortable, great powerful shower, always hot water, although the cubicle is quite small. Very kind of the owners to leave scones and cake for us on arrival, also a doggy biscuit for our dog, very kind property was very clean on arrival, although there was a smell, not sure if it hadn't been let recently. Also signs of damp/mould in the bathroom needs addressing. First day we had no heating and the house was freezing. Messaged the owner, who always replies very promptly, she said the previous guests must have altered the settings and told me what to do, perhaps it would be a good idea to check the settings after each guest leaves, just to make sure there are no issues. Great location, plenty of lovely walks along the coast path, around amble, loved walking around the pier and seeing the seals, plenty of places to eat, nice walk to Warkworth. The anchorage is in a great location to explore all that Northumberland has to offer. All in all a lovely stay, just a couple of issues which are easily fixed. Thanks for a lovely stay

Not having use of a washing machine, the addition of a whisk would be great(personal choice, but we love scrambled eggs), bathroom needs a little freshen up to get rid of the damp/mould and the strange smell.

Location fabulous, decor very tasteful - helpful & responsive host…..Dyson hairdryer ( small thing but very welcome)
