Purves Cottage

Lovely cottage, very well equipped. Nice touches with eggs, milk and especially the Prosecco. Bathroom and ground floor bedroom especially nice.

Bedroom upstairs nice but bed too small, would benefit from King size bed with a fold out spare bed if necessary. TV signal could have been better at times.

I booked the cottage as a surprise birthday treat for my wife. She absolutely loved it! Sally and Ian had thought of everything needed to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The cottage had everything required to make a perfect stay and the Welcome Pack was a brilliant touch. Sally's instructions on how to get to the cottage and how to gain entry were spot on. The cottage was extremely clean and bright.

Cottage was spotless, equipped with everything you could possibly need. Beds very comfortable and just a lovely cottage where you can relax. Large enclosed garden area with picnic table was ideal as we were so fortunate with the weather. Ideal base for visiting Eyemouth and Coldingham Bay . Hosts were fantastic and our welcome goodies much appreciated. Highly recommend.

We loved everything about Purves Cottage - it was cosy, comfortable and extremely well-equipped for our family with 3 young children. The facilities were fantastic (in particular the comfy beds, huge shower and dining kitchen). We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return on a future trip.

We loved everything about the cottage. A home away from home! Perfectly located to explore the Borders and we wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we return to the area. The bathroom is absolutely beautiful. Beds very comfortable and kitchen exceptional. Thanks to our wonderful host for a lovely stay.

Very spacious, well equipped and comfortable

Only slight issue was that the enclosed garden was detached from the cottage meaning we had to put our two dogs on a lead to take them to this area for their toilet needs instead of being able to let them out a back door.

An absolutely stunning property that the pictures simply don't do justice to - it was much bigger than expected, and beautifully presented. The owners included little nice touches that made it even more special, including a box of the largest eggs I have ever seen (5/6 were double yolkers!) and some wine, a little history of the property and enough wood and smokeless fuel for the whole visit. A really lovely place in a cracking location to see the borders and I would definitely like to stay here again.

For us, these are very minor points. If travelling with friends (as opposed to family), not having a separate, second toilet could be tricky - I personally would lose the washing machine and convert that cupboard into a toilet with sink. The kitchen sink is also tucked in an awkward to access spot to accommodate a dishwasher, but perfectly useable.

The cottage was absolutely fabulous, super comfy and cozy. The hosts were extremely helpful and kind too. I had a great wee vreak. Thank you.
