Purves Cottage

Lovely location in quiet village ; handy for travelling to local attractions . Great private, dog friendly, garden. Lovely welcome pack,amazing shower. Each room is large,spacious and comfortably furnished.

The cottage blew us away when we entered, with its well equipped large country kitchen and living rooms, 2 great bedrooms and beautiful bathroom. The hosts left Prosecco in the fridge and eggs, croissants and jams, we wanted for nothing. Location was tremendous, with only a short walk to the Allanton Inn, a superb pub that we went to twice. Easy on-site parking.

The only, slight, downside was that there was only one bathroom between 5 of us, so a little planning was required. It was beautifully equipped though.

Lovely cottage and the second time we have stayed here...fab location and a stone throw away from a great pub serving delicious meals. Having said that, the kitchen in Purves Cottage is fabulous and perfect for a small dinner party. The welcome basket is a very nice treat, with the best double yolkers, I have ever had. The cottage has everything you could possibly need. It is tastefully decorated, warm, lovely open fires and plenty coal & logs to light it. The bathroom is fabulous and lovely hot water. The beds are comfortable and lovely with sheets and gorgeous fluffy towels... I could go on all day about how nice Purves Cottage is...but you need to experience it for yourselves; you won't be disappointed. Booked for next year Thank you Sally for another perfect stay

The cottage is spacious yet cosy and warm. The bathroom was especially nice, with a large shower and nice freestanding bathtub. The kitchen was great, and well-equipped, and had a nice large dining table; especially nice was the presence of a dishwasher.

Our second stay at Purves and we just love everything about the cottage. Hosts are great and it’s a perfect place to relax. Facilities for children are also great with choice of high chairs and a very sturdy travel cot provided. The living room is beautiful and the kitchen is so well equipped. The bathroom is absolutely stunning. It feels like a little oasis! Weather didn’t allow us to use the garden but we certainly made use of the gorgeous fireplaces - an open fire in the living room and a wood burner in the kitchen. Just lovely.
