8B Calbost

Calbost is an out of the way location, which is why we chose it, and we couldn't have chosen better. The beauty of the island is well attested elsewhere, no comment is necessary. The property is simple, containing everything you would NEED. The story of the South Lochs is provided in a fascinating folder, and we felt privileged to be there surrounded by so much history.

Such a remote, cozy cottage in an ideal location to explore nearby beaches and lochans as well as further afield! It was exactly what we were looking for. The cottage was clean and well appointed, and Tracy and Steve were most helpful, and right down the lane. If you’re wanting an extended stay, it’s just right. Make sure you stock on provisions at Tesco beforehand, there are shops between Stornoway and Calbost, but nothing within a 20 minute drive. It’s well worth it though—the history of the cottage is well documented, and the area itself is like a microcosm of the Island. Simply sublime.

Location: amazing location set up on hill,overlooking small loch & the sea. Some lovely walks . Cottage: not much to look at from outside but gorgeous inside. Very cosy, immaculate & comfortable. Fantastic attention to detail, even including a welcome basket, eggs, milk, biscuits, savoury biscuits, jams. Dog friendly too. Didn’t want to leave!!

The location was beautiful and so peaceful it was hard to leave,the cottage was lovely.

Lovely quiet location. Very scenic. Comfortable bed in spacious double bedroom. Well equipped kitchen. Loved the local free range organic eggs.

Stunning location with access to a nice stoned beach. Peaceful and far enough away from the noisey sheep. nice walks in the surrounding area. The accommodation had everything you needed and was comfy and cosy. Easy to get to Stornoway or Harris.

Location was perfect for exploring the islands

I wouldn’t change anything

Location, above all. So quiet and scenic. The cottage is clean. Nicely equipped with matching quality kitchenware. I urge people to visit.
