Had a wonderful time in the cottage and village. Everything was clean and nicely decorated with some beautiful original features. The village is a perfect base for walking and exploring the lakes. The swimming pool opposite was a welcome bonus in the heat too. Two good pubs in the village too. The food is very nice at The Punch Bowl.

A very characterful and homely cottage with everything on the doorstep. This is a period property so yes it has low ceilings in parts (which is great!) and is warm, cosy, the most comfortable beds and plenty of thought given to amenities for a great stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with a great local shop across the road but the two local pubs offer great dining out for different budgets (Punchbowl being the fancier of the two and Queens Head being pizzas only at the time of our stay). Jacqui was very helpful and responsive throughout, thank you. Would definitely stay again.

"Amazing getaway"

We had a lovely stay at this cottage. The setting is peaceful and beautiful and has great walks right from the doorstep. The cottage itself is cosy, and well equipped, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hosts were friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even better. A perfect place to relax and unwind we’d happily return!

A fantastic base for exploring the Lake District. The cottage is in a great location, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and check-in was smooth and hassle free. We especially appreciated how peaceful it was in the evenings, making it easy to switch off after busy days out walking and sightseeing. Stayed at The White Cottage in August—a delightful experience. The cottage was amazing, had everything we needed. Location was spot on, with lovely pubs and plenty of walks by the lake. Would definitely recommend!
