Endeavour Cottage Whitby Quiet Old Yard Fishermans Cottage

The location was perfect central but quiet and peaceful. Super comfy main bed. Nice little kitchen. Owner was easily contacted. Free parking permit. Absolutely would return. Fantastic.

Need a good airing, we left the windows open what did help. But others may not think about doing that.

While the cottage benefited from a good location and was close to other family staying locally, this was unfortunately the only real highlight of our stay. The property itself fell short in several areas and did not provide the standard of accommodation we were expecting.

The property was not clean or maintained to an acceptable standard on arrival. There was widespread mould in the bathroom and shower areas, dirt and debris behind furniture and along skirting boards, and visible grime on fixtures and fittings. The kitchen extractor and other surfaces were greasy and dusty, and the bathtub was dirty on arrival. The sofa bed was not suitable for sleeping and the mattress had to be placed directly on the floor. Only two towels were provided, which was inadequate. Overall, the accommodation did not match the listing description or basic cleanliness expectations, which significantly toned the stay down. This isn't something which could have been fixed while staying. Looking back on the reviews the plug is still dirty from June 2024

Bathroom was very ordinary, needs to be done up.

Location was excellent, the cottage was right n the centre of Whitby.

Could do with a good clean and a redecoration but it was still cosy and comfortable. The boiler was a little noisy when it fired up but it was no big deal.

Very central, just off Flowergate, so a great base to explore Whitby. Good size cottage for four people, which is extremely quiet at night. . Kitchen well stocked and lots of hot water.

A bit of a musty smell when we first arrived but this could be due to not having any heating on for a while. As the cottage sleeps six, the downstairs washing machine/dishwasher room could be made into a toilet, as one between six can be a bit tricky. A fairly big leak in that room also, which we were a little concerned about but we didn't use the facilities in there at all.

Difficult to park to unload luggage and then a walk to where we could park the car , wasn’t aware of this until at the cottage
