Riverside Cottage with sauna

Set in a very peaceful and picturesque location, I was there for work in Barnstaple, and the cottage was brilliant to come back to after a hard days work, the cottage was so warm with underfloor heating and a great log burner, The Host Reka left bread and milk and butter, and some lovely smoked trout from the adjacent Trot Farm.

Everything was sound.

Beautiful property, very comfy bed, warm and cosy and great for our dog. Hosts left us treats in the fridge and the sauna was a great extra.

No outside bins that we could see. Location is a little out of the centre but absolutely fine if you have a car!

The location was fantastic right by river and lovely old building with log burner and underfloor heating. Even had a Sauna which worked very well and heatred quickly. Hosts were excellent.

All excellent, so nothing not to like. There is nothing that wasnt at the cottage.

The most idyllic spot, so peaceful with the soporific sound of tumbling water from the stream outside your window. The apartment is well furnished and comfortable with a lovey hot shower after a long day in the water. Having the sauna was an added bonus. It was hot within 15 mins and lovely to have it there to warm you up after a day out and about.

Needed instructions on how to change the temperature of the underfloor heating and settings for the bathroom radiator.

The property was easy to access in a great location. Nice and spacious both inside and out. Very peaceful and the sauna was perfect for relaxing and the stream added additional charm.

There is nothing not to like, but the addition of simple things like a full set of wine glasses and an outside lights near the sauna would have been a welcomed addition.

Good location good parking great garden and lovely river and kids play area ,nice big tv quiet location,kitchen was functional but not much storage for your food ,nice outside seating area

Unfortunately the bed was not good didn’t look like the covers had been changed since the last people.On looking closer at the bed I found 5 black long hairs lots of creases in the pillowcases and to my disgust when I removed the pillowcases they had no pillow protectors and the pillows were all yellow and stained and we couldn’t sleep on them. The kitchen had crumbs on the floor so wasn’t hoover well so unfortunately we didn’t stay the full time because of the state of the bed very poor

I liked size of the property inside and outside, it was fully functional with well equipped good standard with beautiful garden by the river.

Bed was too soft for me

Spacious cottage with lots of nice outside space. Very nice modernised kitchen Good secure garden for our dog. Play area, table tennis and a box containing lots of sports equipment in the garden kept my daughter happy. Wifi in the cottage is decent. There was a sauna but didn't use as no instructions and didn't seem to heat up. Good central location as ilfracombe and woolacombe all about 25 mins drive and plenty of supermarkets in Barnstaple.

House is split into two. Downstairs was dated and we didn't use the bedroom/area. Upstairs has bedroom/kitchen and bathroom. If modernised downstairs would make it very nice. Property up for sale at present and maybe why money not being spent. Last night had terrible sleep as another guest returned home middle of the night and used a room connected to upstairs bedroom where washing machine was. Light lit up the whole bedroom through a connecting wardrobe which led into storage room
