Riverside Cottage with sauna

The place was warm, plenty of room to park. Lovely touch of smoked trout left in fridge along with milk, butter and bread. On arrival outside first impressions were disappointing needs some tlc but upstairs in cottage is lovely.

Very isolated, no lights on when we arrived and no sign telling us it was Riverside Cottage. Upstairs was fine and warm and Sauna great although no instructions to refer to. Reception for TV was awful. No bin in kitchen area. Towels very rough. Dog left loose on arrival back to cottage in dark with him barking at gate, knowing he's not friendliest of dogs is not good.

Comfortable, very quiet, large rooms, sauna very nice.

Lot of trouble over TV as the picture and sound broke up and so couldn't use it most of the 4 nights we were there. WiFi did not work on our ipads only phones. Only 2 bowls, only 2 plastic wine glasses.

The location has lovely views and the host, Reka, was really welcoming and friendly. She greeted us on arrival and showed us how to use the door lock with the code. The living room has a booklet with information on staying there as well as containing helpful information on

Others may not mind, but there were a few spiders in each of the rooms. Its not a massive negative as I removed them myself, just more to think about if future guests have arachnophobia. I'm also aware of the location which is next to trees and waterways so it may just be that they are more common there.

The location was lovely and the ability to walk our dog directly from the property was great. The sound of running water was lovely to hear. It was quiet and peaceful. The rooms were very spacious and the kitchen was well-appointed.

The weather was atypical for July and at times it was a little cool. The front gate was a little awkward too.

What a beautiful cottage, garden and stream! Fabulous place to stay with excellent hosts. Lovely bar, superb smoked trout, perfect setting for the dogs. Already looking forward to booking a return trip!

Well equipped

Comfortable accommodation with a lovely enclosed garden for our dog, enjoyed listening to the stream that runs passed the seating area. Great location few minutes drive from Barnstable. Lots of large beaches and coastal walks around 15 -20 minutes away. As national trust members Arlington Court, Baggy Point & Watersmeet were good for walks with our dog. Would definitely stay again.
