Views are stunning and host is helpful.

The peoperty didnt seem to have been cleaned, carpets in rooms had dirty plasters and sugar spilled. The bed sheets were old and stained and didnt smell clean. The wallpaper is peelinf everywhere. No fire extinguisher or basic first aid kit.

Hot tub wasn’t working the first night and into the 2nd day but I can’t fault the communication with the host! we stay local as my son is autistic and will defo be back! Property was lovely cozy and addition of the log burner kept us warm even in in zero temperatures thank you

The only downside was there was no microwave but I’m really not picking to find something negative to leave the most honest reveiw

Lovely location and the view at the back is beautiful. Parking provided and the site it lovely overall. The open plan kitchen living room is cosy. Beds were comfy!

The extractor fan was loud/broken, the bathroom light was broken. The back doors had a gap and didn’t shut fully. The guest information book is out of date with old WiFi/heating information.

Was filthy, run down. Needs a total revamp and cleaned properly. Bedding is old stained towels old. Shower screen didn't close. Cobwebs everywhere. Bath wasn't cleaned. Floors filthy. Outdoor area was filthy and not somewhere i could relax and enjoy. Hottub had no scoop and cushions broken off. Only slept in lodge. If i could have got another place to stay i would have

The location was nice.

I had to contact the host for details of how to collect keys and where on the park it was. The lodge was filthy and loads of things were broken. I can see from previous reviews that comments have been made about cleanliness, the shower screen, the dishwasher shelf being broken, the extractor fan being broken, the state of the furniture on the decking, the list goes on, and none of these have been fixed. We lifted the sofa cushions as something had gone under them and I could have been sick at how filthy it was. Avoid at all costs.

The location and the view were lovely. The lodge looked great from outside. Thats about it. There was more not to like to be honest and I have posted my message to the owner below, they did not respond…..

We had a lovely weekend at Brackenrigg Lodge however we just wanted to mention a few things that you may not be aware of…not sure if you visit it often but there are cleanliness and maintenance issues with it that you may want to address… When we arrived on Friday the bedrooms and bathroom were clean and tidy but the rest of the lodge didn’t look like it had been cleaned properly; there were cobwebs in the living area, we found leftover bread in the cupboard, the fridge hadn’t been cleaned/wiped down. There was dust and dirt under the coffee table and sofa, the log burner was full of ash and hadn’t been emptied from the previous occupiers so we couldn’t use it. The view from the lodge is beautiful however the windows are filthy so it wasn’t very pleasant to sit and look out. We couldn’t use the top drawer of the dishwasher as it is broken. The hot tub filter maintenance was 4 days overdue when we got there on Friday and some of the jets don’t work. All four of us felt itchy and had red dry skin after using the hot tub (this hasn’t happened to us in previous stays using other hot tubs). The privacy screen outside is broken. The sofa is very tatty and in need of replacing, there were feathers were all over from the cushions and we all had bad backs from sitting on it. Just a few other things; there was only one toilet roll, no washing up liquid and the sweeping brush handle is broken. We were also surprised that there wasn’t a microwave, this would have been very useful. The extractor fan also needs looking at as it makes a very loud noise when you turn it on, the filters on it also need to be cleaned. Like I say we did have a nice weekend but you may want to address the issues above as this could impact on future reviews. I will hold off posting a review until I hear back from you. The lodge is beautiful but in desperate need of some TLC.
