Daffodil Lodge

I'm not sure it would be possible to find a more thoughtful host than Mary. Her love for her family home is evident everywhere, as is her genuine thoughtfulness for her guests' every need. She has staples, treats, handmade guidebooks, personalized welcome notes, clear instructions -- everything. And the cottage itself is like stepping into a storybook, complete with stunning scenery! We chose a side-trip to Sligo for Yeats, but this place was almost its own destination.

Just know that the bedrooms are upstairs and the bathroom is on the main floor, with some steep stairs, if you have mobility issues.

Check in was simple, there were lots of snacks and drinks,and a personalized greeting was very nice. This is a clean little cottage and a pretty good value for the money.

It was a bit further than we expected to sligo. This is my mistake.. We first felt like we were in the middle of nowhere. Google maps took us the long way around. It wasn't exactly like the photos seemed to us.

The property itself is so beautiful!! They were so sweet with leaving lots of treats/snacks/supplies - I’ve never stayed anywhere that provided so much and was so considerate! Loved knowing the history of the place and with my family originally from Sligo it felt so special to stay there.

I would say the only critique I have is that the stairway light is a little off and would turn on and off at random times.

Lovely authentic cottage in countryside. Fantastic host - every little detail thought through and fabulous supply of options for breakfast. Large bedrooms and great heating throughout cottage

Stairs to bedrooms are steep, would not suit older persons

The breakfast and snack supplies for us to have was amazing.

The lodge is buried in beautiful countryside. You would definitely need a car to stay here. It’s very cosy and quiet. We were very surprised how well stocked the lodge was. Pretty much everything you would ever need. Just like home from home. The availability of wifi was a great surprise.

My short stay. The lodge was so lovely. I will miss the best sleep I’ve had in years.

Fantastic wee cottage. loads of character in the cottage. Great location.
