"An authentic slice of Irish country living."

10.0

Lovely rural countryside with total silence at night. Just a few minutes drive back to the main roads to Sligo and the attractions of the area. We loved the authentic character of this Irish country cottage rather than staying in just another bland new built home. It had character and history. The owner Mary had put many thoughtful little touches throughout the home to make your stay more enjoyable. She’s a pleasure to deal with. We’ll be back.

"It was nice!"

Breakfast ingredients were available in the kitchen and on the dining table.

The central heating got completely off after some time. But fan heaters and temperature sensing plug in heaters were provided. They helped us to stay warm.

"Rustic Country Hideaway, ready for rest and relaxation."

6.0

If I needed a place to relax in the quiet and calm of nature, THIS IS THE PLACE! Its views are beautiful, the place is very rustic. It was easy to find, the host responds immediately and is easy to communicate with, easy parking. If you have ever wondered what its like to live in an early 1900's place, this is it! Its a rural experience.

As it is quite old, its a crooked kinda house. The stairway is tilted to the right. The only bathroom is downstairs, its inconvenient when your husband visits it several times a night. The warmest room is the living room with a couch and loveseat, due to the electric fireplace. We were able to turn on the radiators, and they work great...almost too well in the upstairs bedrooms, we ended up turning them off in the middle of the night. The inside motion light on the stairs turned on & off everytime I rolled over in bed, and of course with the bathroom trips, the outside one with every wind gust, so we turned that one off as well, can't turn off the inside one. The floor is uneven. The shower gets very hot, but also very cold, seems to be no middle ground. The kitchen is usable, but the fridge is a mini fridge. As I didn't look close enough, I thought this was close to Sligo town. In reality, its about 10 min outside town, and on a very narrow road.

The host had supplied a beautiful basket of goodies. Everything you would have in your own home was available. There are too many personal touches to mention. This was a stand-out accommodation for us - thank you so much

So many additional supplies we did not expect. Such a beautiful spot.

No washing machine. Very very steep stairs.
