Beck Hill Cottage In Brandsby

The location is perfect…tranquil, surroundings were beautiful, the view was fabulous from the patio are and living room all opening into the magnificent pond and fields

Nothing tbh, a few cobwebs lurking but I wouldn’t be complaining and I didn’t care as it was superb!

A lot of bedrooms, very clean and had all the necessary facilities. The owners were helpful and the dogs were friendly.

The cottage is lovely, great size, surrounded by fields with horses on.

A bit pricey for 1 nights stay but a pleasant stay overall

Beautiful location

John & Kate are very friendly and helpful hosts. Living Room was spacious and comfortable. Fantastic big corner sofa. Kitchen was small, but good. Parking was great right next to cottage. Bathroom was good size. Recommendations from John of local walks and The Durham Ox for dinner were both really good.

Only one of the three bedrooms was made-up on arrival, which was a pity as we'd liked to be able to choose which room to sleep in. John & Kate happily made-up another room though when I mentioned it to them, so that was good. WiFi kept dropping out. Was unable to conduct a work Zoom meeting as a result. Electricity to wall sockets tripped-off on morning of departure, so unable to boil kettle, charge phones etc. John fixed it soon enough once I'd alerted him to it, so that was good. Kept hitting my feet against the footboard at the bottom of the beds which meant I had to sleep diagonally. Beds without footboards would be better, certainly for taller guests.

Very clean . Lovely location

There was no instructions or welcome pack . The shower was very small . The dogs were ok but came in the house . My daughter doesn't like dogs There were 2 large dobleman dogs that killed a chicken right outside window was quite distressing for my children . There was no way to change the heating setting
