Lovely big house massive bedrooms except the twin which is big enough for kids, lovely bathrooms lots of crockery n nice too! Good communication with owners, very peaceful stay.

Very comfortable and great location. Short walk into York, plenty of shops etc nearby. Kitchen very well equipped. We were travelling with a disabled family member and the downstairs bedroom and bathroom was the main decisive factor and both were perfectly suitable.

Too early a checkout for a place to stay on the weekend - 10am on a Sunday. 12 noon is the standard and makes a big difference to the enjoyment of a weekend.

Brilliant location close to city centre for tourist attractions/restaurants etc. Easy to find and walk to from train station. Bedrooms/en suites all beautiful. Kitchen really well equipped, a little old fashioned but easy to cook a meal in. Hosts very responsive to texts which is brilliant. The small negative points made below did not detract from the fact that this was a brilliant place for 2 families to get together and share a space whilst visiting great attractions (dungeons were amazing).

Very different temperature zones with top floor boiling whilst still cold and needing additional heaters on ground floor. For a lovely place they bizarrely watered down the washing up liquid and liquid soap and didn't provide any spray or a cloth for surface cleaning. A small but quite important point. Also would benefit from a rug in the living room on the hard wooden floor - these are all very minor points but sorting them would enhance the experience.

I liked the extra touches e.g. chocolates, Christmas decorations. Jane was very good at answering my questions.

Mattresses weren't very comfortable.

The house was in a good location for us. The house was very clean and tidy with everything we needed. The property had plenty of leaflets explaining different activities, and there was a folder of information explaining how things worked and contact numbers if we needed them. We were very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend it.

House was amazing

Lovely cosy and welcoming property, well maintained and in a great location. Excellent value. The owners let us have a late check out at short notice after i injured my foot and couldnt do planned sightseeing, which we were very grateful for.

not applicable as breakfast was not provided but there are plenty of good places to eat breakfast or buy food close buy if you prefer to eat at home.

We had a couple of small mix-ups at first, like being given access to the wrong flat initially and discovering the coffee machine had been swapped out, so the pods we’d bought didn’t fit. However, the owner handled everything promptly and thoughtfully. As a lovely gesture, the owner provided us with extra pods for the new machine, along with a bottle of Prosecco and extra treats, which made our stay feel even more welcoming. Overall, these little hiccups were quickly resolved, and we felt well looked after.
