Very conveniently located - just half a block to the metro and many bus lines as well as convenience stores! Was fun to stay in a traditional Japanese home with Tatami mats and futons.

Place wasn’t as clean as it should have been - mold in the shower, massive dust in the bathroom fan, broken railing on a very steep staircase.

My family and I (husband and two sons aged 19 and 21) loved our stay at Villa Chiyotsuru, a traditional 100 year old property, in April 2026. The day before we arrived, we were sent the security code for the property which made it really easy for us to access the villa. About an hour after we arrived, the manager came to go through all the little details of the property and gave us lots of tips for places to visit, restaurants, and transport options. It was wonderful, and so helpful. The futons were really comfortable and the doonas really warm. I was actually a bit worried I wouldn't like them but I was pleasantly surprised. The location was great, just a two minute walk to Omiya Station (for trains to Kawaramachi), the RANDEN to Arashiyama, and buses to everywhere (eg Kyoto Station, or TeamLab). There's a washing machine and dryer, which is really helpful, as well as an airconditioner which warmed up the house quickly.

We found the water heater for the shower a bit confusing, but we worked it out. I would recommend asking the manager to go through it with you when he's there. Also, it didn't bother us, but just be aware that the stairs to the second floor are quite steep.

Natuurlijk weinig faciliteiten. Jammer dat de fiets lekke band had.

Muy buena ubicación, gran experiencia en lo que es una casa típica de Kyoto. Cocina bien equipada y cómoda. Tenía varios libros y mapas de la zona para poder planificar de mejor forma las actividades que uno puede hacer.

La loza estaba un poco sucia o con polvo cuando llegamos, y para usar la lavadora de ropa había que pagar 300 yenes (solo para que otros huespedes lo tengan en cuenta).

Having someone there upon checkin was great. They told us about the area, how to access things around the Villa and were so helpful in our stay. It was a wonderful check-in!

The Villa was not very clean (was quite dusty). The villa did not have much natural light or space to do much else besides eat and sleep. Most things were good, just would have preferred a cleaner space.

침구류가 매우 편안해서 잘 쉬었습니다 깨끗하고 위치도 매우 좋았어요

It's a wonderful house near the train station.
