Kyoto Villa Chiyotsuru

Just perfect. If i lived in Japan, i would love to have a house like this one.

Good English communication. The owner provided a lot helpful information and maps for visitors .

Close to station, super helpful host, historic villa has character, selection of books on Kyoto available to browse, huge map with highlighted destinations on the wall, tatami mats and comfortable beds.

Super nice, experience was great, has everything I needed, very relaxed staying here, location is great

Shame the door doesn’t open completely, or maybe that’s just me, had a baby stroller we needed to bring in, still managed after putting it in an angle

Location was great. Very small though.

There was a camera in the first room that we weren't told about. Also there was a lot of rules around the house which made us feel uncomfortable and worried about doing the slightest thing wrong. Very cluttered, not enough space for our belongings and very dusty.

The location was very close to a bus stop, making it very easy to get around. The home was very comfortable and wonderfully designed. It really helped with immersion in Kyoto. The host was so gracious and gave a lot of tips and recommendations, which really did come in handy and helped make our trip unforgettable! We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

While incredible tidy and well kept, some corners of the home were a little dusty. The home is nearly 100 years old, so to be expected.

Fantastic location close to excellent restaurants, transport and shops- central. A traditional Japanese house on a very quiet street. Good information re transport to various sites and a great map on the wall.

Not having any instructions to run appliances such as multiple different air conditioners and hot water system. A page in their information booklet to include this would have been very handy. However, when contacted, the owners responded quickly to fix these issues. Narrow, steep stairs may preclude older or incapacitated travellers.
