Kyoto Villa Chiyotsuru

The Villa location is so near the station. Convenient to go around Kyoto. The house is so cosy, filled up with lots of details that make you feel like home. The owner is so friendly and helpfull. My kids enjoyed the tatami style bedroom.

The only offset is the water heater supply is not consistent. After a while of shower, the hot water would stop running and had to wait for a while to get hot water again.

Very cozy and clean home with all amenities necessary for a longer stay. The beds (on the floor) were very comfortable. The bikes available for rental were amazing and very useful to explore the city without having to rely on overcrowded public transport. I highly recommend this means of getting around the city! The host was quick to reply to our messages and even helped us get rid of our broken luggage at the end of our stay.

The washing / drying machine may be used for an added cost of 200 yen per cycle

We liked the location and experience with the real japanese house.

Too small for 5 of us, but need to take into account this is just more suitable for Japanese people.

This was such a charming, exceptionally nice place for our family to stay during our visit to Kyoto. Everything was easy to use, such great instructions and guides, and the traditional style was great. We could not have been happier.

Only thing that could have been better was the weather! They house was perfect for us. Cannot wait to return.

That you had to pay for laundry

It was a traditional home.

Cold inside. Unfortunately when we stayed in March the weather was wet and cold. The heating doesn't have enough output. This is the only place in Japan where we have to pay to use the washer. It's too dark inside. The futons are not comfortable for us. Too thin. No closet space. The vents in the bathroom weren't clean. Extra money was required for occupancy tax on top of our booking price. This is the only place we had to pay this. We should have been notified of the exact amount before

Kyoto Villa Chiyotsuru was charming, comfortable, and a very homey traditional Japanese house for our family of 5. Chiyotsuru was an incredible host with strong communication skills before and during our stay. He met us at the villa, shared his beautiful map of Kyoto and itinerary ideas, brought an extra bike in case we would want to use them, explained everything we needed to know about our stay. He answered all of my questions during our stay very quickly. The setup was great for our luggage, sleeping with 2 separate rooms (sliding door between), eating meals and cooking some meals. We loved having a washer so we could pack light. Our days were very busy exploring some of what Kyoto and the surrounding area has to offer. I only wish we had taken more time to explore the immediate area more - there was SO much within blocks. We cannot wait to come again!
