Kamon Inn Inari

Excellent Japanese style experience. It was two floors comfy good size house. The rooms were on the second floor. On the first floor were two toilets rooms, and a separate bathtub shower. Easy you can sleep on the first floor so you don't go up and down on the stairs. There are no beds, just futons, but it was very comfy for us. Good location and attractions. Near the train stations. Short walk to Fushimi Inari.

Lovely Ryokan type accommodation. Great space for 2 adults and 3 kids. Two separate bathrooms and shower. Lots of extra blankets. Kitchen area had basic amenities. Short walk from Fushimi Inari temple and a couple of train stations.

Could use a toaster in the kitchen.

This house was wonderful and one of the two best places we stayed on our Japan trip. (The other was Apartment Hotel 11 in Namba, Osaka). There was so much room. Downstairs, there was a large dining and living room with a small kitchen. Then there was a large living or bedroom, which had a toilet plus a separate room with a sink off it. Through another sliding door, you could see outside to a small garden, then there was another toilet room, plus a large bathroom with a shower/bath and another sink. Upstairs (up stairs like the ones in My Neighbour Totoro as my children pointed out), there were two large bedrooms, separated by a small corridor. All the bedrooms had tatami floor and we all slept on futons. I liked the futons, my parents and children loved the futons, but my husband didn't find them that comfortable, so I think it's down to personal preference. The house is located a short walk from two train stations, Fushimi Inari and Inari. Inari is on the JR line, so you can get from that station to Kyoto station is just 6 minutes on the train. That's a better option than going to Fushimi Inari, which means you have to change trains and get on a different line. Doing this takes longer than just walking a few extra minutes. The house is very close to the Fushimi Inari Shrine, which is incredibly popular. If you want to visit the shrine early or late to avoid the crowds, this house is a good choice. Everything was very clean and there were utensils provided for us to use.

We found it a little strange that the only two toilets were accessible either from the downstairs bedroom or by walking through that bedroom. Admittedly it's due to the house (no room upstairs) but it did mean that if we needed the toilet at night, we'd have to walk into a bedroom where other people were asleep to get to one. Fine for us as we were travelling as a family, but could be awkward in other situations. This hotel could do with having a few towel holders or hooks put in, as there wasn't anywhere to hang towels either near the kitchen sink or near the bathroom sinks. Although a lot of cutlery is provided, there weren't any knives except one rather large one! The main door of the property seemed like it was a bit flimsy and I would've liked to feel a little more secure with a few more locks. However, we were staying in a very quiet residential area. The stairs to the upstairs rooms are very steep and wouldn't be suitable for people who have trouble with normal stairs.

The house is very good and in nice traditional style. All you need is available in the kitchen. The bath tub is great! The decoration (⛩️鳥居) in the little garden is super neat and cute!

The lock of the door. It needs a bit of trick (pull the door a bit toward yourself when you turn the lock). It gave me trouble on the arrival day.

Not enough crockery(big bowls) and utensils, and cutlery (knives)also more pegs for laundry.

Everything! The house was beautiful and extremely clean. It had a book with all the instructions we needed and the facilities were great. The house was pretty close to JR Inari Station, so we had no issues moving around the place.

Great location. Charming house with a mix of old style and modern facilities.

The location was great, very close to the shrine and stations. Plenty of room inside and everything was neat and tidy.
