Kamon Inn Inari

This was a fantastic value. My friends and I had plenty of space to spread out and get comfortable. The bathrooms, shower, and laundry facilities are wonderful and the kitchen is a good size for Japan. The house is a nice blend of modern conveniences with classic architecture. It is a 10 minute walk to Fushimi Inari and even closer to train stations with many convenience stores and restaurant options. I would recommend anyone to stay here on their visit to Kyoto.

It took us several days to discover that there were two bathrooms - the obvious one next to laundry and the other next to the shower. But that's probably just because we're silly.

amazing place to stay. Clean, you can feel japanese atmosphere. the house is close to 2 different stations, very big and fully equipment. One of the best place I've ever slept as tourist.

A pretty, clean, tidy, well-kept house, quite and just a couple of minutes walk to a train staition and supermarkets and the Fushimi Inari-Taisha.

somewhere to hang all our towels would have been great… with 8 of us there, the clothesline was constantly in use so we didn’t have a spot to put the wet towels to dry/

If people want to have an authentic stay in a Japanese house with modern conveniences, then this is the place. We chose it because we didn't want a generic hotel room.

Everything was fine, although I could see how some guests might not like the one toilet directly off the first floor sleeping room.

I decided to stay at the Kamon Inn for its location close to Fushimi Inari Taisha, rather than for my personal need as a solo-traveler. That said, the place was rather huge for the price I paid. I had access to the entire house, all two bedrooms, two toilet rooms, one shower, garden, kitchen, and living room, and it was more than I needed and really comfortable. The location is good for access to the Keihan Line subway system, which has access to Kyoto Station and more. There's a number of convenience stores and good restaurants located nearby. The AC worked well, though it took me a couple tries to figure out how each unit worked and which controller to use.

The front door is a little old, so you might have to use a bit of strength in order to get it opened or closed, though making sure to be gentle with it. It slides on its track well enough, but to close it and lock it, you need to get it shut against the wall pretty close, and that might take a bit of lifting.
