lovely Japanese house with all facilities . location is nice on the river and close to attractions.

luggage should be kept by the entrance . communication message through booking but by email

would have liked a tray in toaster oven. not as many choices for restaurants, but pontocho not too far away

Amazing location bang in the middle of Gion but in a quiet secluded enclave near the river, comfiest beds of our entire Japan trip, everything was perfect in the flat.

Not really “didn’t like” but something to note is that the bathroom/toilet is on a different floor as the bedroom so not ideal if you have mobility issues/are pregnant!

Beautiful place by the river, lovely inside and the host is very kind and helpful. The place was very clean! Beds are really comfy.

So, there's a few small gripes about this place. Your bags have to stay by the door, which is understandable for the floors, but it's very inconvenient, I wish there were mats in the rooms. There was also soap missing from the toliet bathroom, and there was no towel by the kitchen sink. There are also many many rules, which make sense, but it also makes it hard to get comfortable as you're always have to check of you can flip a light switch, or if you're being too loud, or using some appliance right. The place is like a beautiful museum, lovely, but hard to be comfortable and relaxed.

the property was very clean and in a great location. perfect for a longer stay as there is so much room!

I didn’t like how loud it could get. the windows are very thin and every little noise can be heard.
