La Casa di Montegrosso

A place with one of the most amazing views in all of Matera just by stepping out the door. Great and extremely helpful owner, took care of everything - from pick-up/drop-off, found a free parking space, provided all kinds of drinks and coffee from the machine. Very spacious and clean apartments, provided all the information about places to visit. There are at least 3 cool restaurants with good cuisine within a few steps. We recommend - our first experience in Matera was 10 out of 10, we would be happy to repeat it here!

Franco est un hôte exceptionnel. Tout était prêt pour notre arrivée. Il est venu nous chercher (et nous ramener au départ) à l'arrêt de bus. La maison est formidable, confortable et bien équipée.

Tutto è stato perfetto, al di sopra delle aspettative. Franco è un host gentilissimo, accogliente e preparato. Ci ha dato tutte le informazioni utili per vivere al meglio il nostro soggiorno e, inoltre, l'accoglienza riservataci è stata unica: ci siamo sentite come a casa. La struttura è totalmente attrezzata e il frigo e la dispensa erano riforniti per merende e colazioni e, soprattutto, bibite fresche di ogni genere. Sicuramente, qualora dovessimo tornare a Matera, sceglieremo di nuovo questa casa: posizione strategica sia per raggiungere i Sassi che la parte nuova della città.

The location was excellent. The kitchen was stocked for cooking (salt, olive oil, vinegar) The frig was stocked with water, seltzer, and juices. A wonderful surprise.

There was no parking, but the owner went out of his way to help us find parking. He was helpful, kind, and even offered to stop by grocery store so we could 'stock up' when we arrived. He also let us know what restaurants to try and avoid. Such a nice man. We needed Google translate to communicate,

Our host, Franco, was most kind, warm and generous. Even before we made our way to Matera, he alerted us that the trains did not run on holidays. He picked us up from the bus station and sent us to the bus station at the end of our stay. He has also stocked the kitchen pantry with plenty of drinks and breakfast items. The location of the property was perfect. One could walk to the various sights, viewpoints and restaurants easily. Amazing views right in front of the apartment. The apartment was quiet at night.
