La Casa di Montegrosso

The place is not only perfectly located, but it is prepared for everything. The fridge has a wide collection of drinks, the kitchen is equipped with all you need, and in a place with maybe two or three days with rain in the year there are, of course, umbrellas ready for the visitors. At another company they call this super host. The host even arranged a parking spot for us, not a small feat at this town. We are deeply impressed and thankful. The apartment itself is great too, by the way..

Franco welcomed us and showed us around in his car. He is an amazing person and took care of all our needs. The hotel is very clean, and the view is fantastic. If I visit again, I will definitely choose it again.

However, since the hotel is in a central location, it was quite noisy.

I can just recommend this apartment. I have never had such an amazing and friendly host. He helped us with everything, even fetched us from the train station. The apartment is absolutely great and the view from this part of the city is breathtaking. I will definitely come back!

Franco met me at the bus station to take me to the property and had stocked the kitchen with everything I could need.

If you require a lot of air conditioning in hot weather you might not be comfortable here.

Our stay at this place was just wonderful! First of all the owner is so kind and helpful. He picked us up at the bus stop, helped us with our luggage and drove us to the hotel - on the day of the check-out he helped us again. At the apartment he prepared free drinks, snacks, toiletries - I just never experienced something like this before! :) Also the holiday home is clean, big and comfortable, provides everything you could possibly need (dishwasher, hairdryer, washing machine, a.s.o.). And the location is just perfect - it is literally a 5 second walk away from the most stunning viewpoint of the Sassi. I usually never write reviews but I just want to highly recommend a stay it this place if you ever plan to visit Matera!

We had a wonderful stay at La Casa di Montegrosso! Perfekt location in the Sassi area. The house was very clean and spacious.There is everything that you need, kitchen with whole the amenities, the fridge was full with drinks and some snacks Franko is very helpful, he took us from the bus station and then to the train station with his own car. He gave us useful information about what to see and where to eat local food. I highly recommend the house to everyone who want to see Matera!

This was a great place – highly recommend. The location was absolutely brilliant, Matera's old town is right on your doorstep and there are bars and restaturants right next door. Our host was so kind and helpful, finding us a parking space and then driving us to the property. There's actually free parking pretty close by. The house was also amazingly stocked with drinks which was a bonus as Matera was HOT and there aren't really grocery shops in the old part. The apartment was cool even in the 38 degree heat – we didn't even need to use the fans.
