Excellent location, generous host, air con and ventilators

Frank was extremely helpful and kind. He even offered to drive to my next destination because I left something behind. The apartment was beautiful and comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with lots of drinks and everything you needed to make breakfast or cook. Matera is breathtaking and our home on the edge of the sassi was in a great location. The price was well worth it.

The apartment is located at the best best viewpoint on Matera Sassi. The kitchen had unbelievably good equipment and stock (free prosecco, beer) and Franco was a fantastic host (he took me by his private car to a cellular operator where I needed to buy a replacement charger and then to a supermarket where he was waiting for me until I finish shopping).

The apartment is near a paved street, scarce traffic however generates some noise, so those going to sleep early and sensitive better equip with ear plugs.

Our host Franco was a kind and thoughtful person. He picked us up from the bus station and drove us back on the day we left.He showed us the entire apartment. It was perfectly clean and 100% stocked.The bed was comfortable.We felt like we were in our home! There was absolutely nothing we needed because everything was thought of for a weary tourist. When a mishap occurred, Franco drove my husband to the hospital. Such a nice man.The location of the apartment was perfect. Easy to walk everywhere and tour.We highly recommend this place to stay.We have traveled throughout the world and this has been one of the nicest experiences of our travels.

Lovely cozy place, well equipped. You step outside and have the perfect view over Matera. We got a lot recommendations. Landlord is super friendly and helpful!

The location of the apartment was great. We were able to walk easily to all attractions. What history! There were also three great restaurants a couple of minutes away from the apartment which we appreciated since we had some rainy periods during our two day stay. Franco, the owner of the apartment was incredible. We contacted him to find parking suggestions close to the place. He literally secured a parking spot for us and gave us the spot when we arrived on the street he specified. Then drove us to the apartment in his car. He gave us a tour of how things worked, fridge was well stocked with variety of drinks, beer, milk...cupboards with biscuits, crackers, tea...During checkout, he drove us back to our car. Incredible host, incredible service.

This is not a negative but a suggestion. We didn't speak Italian, so we had a translation app. This is how we communicated with Franco and was able to understand what he was saying.

Everything was superb and beyond that. Absolutely no complaints. This is where you wanna be when in Matera. Location stunning, next to beautiful square with great view to whole Matera old town from that little square. House is very authentic, as well the appartment. Owner left big amount of various drinks, snacks, great coffee etc. Appartment was very very clean, everything in it works (appliances), bathroom very clean, kitchen too, linen and beds also. He reserved private parking for us and drove us from it with all of our stuff to the appartment on checking in, explained everything on italian with the help of his son on english, his son also very polite and friendly. Also on checking out he drove us back with our stuff to the parking place. What a royal service. And Matera, no adequate words to describe Matera, unique and special place, pure magic. Southern Italy was unknown to us but now we want more of it. And also next to the appartment is a nice little restaurant which works all day long with great food and nice local grocery shop. So that's why I give it a 10. Owner knows his business very well.

La Casa di Montegrosso was the perfect place for us to stay! As you walk out the door you have the St. Agostino Church and just a couple steps away is a breathtaking viewpoint. The house was extremely spacious and clean. The host was very welcoming, giving us a full tour of the house and an information kit on what to see in Matera. Would highly recommend for someone looking to stay in the middle of the Sassi!
