Quaint 2 Bedroom Chester City Cottage

Plenty of towels, beds comfortable and clean.

Needs a bit of TLC, door handle to the back fell off in my hand, kitchen door also fell off. Peeling paint work. Some lights not working, previous guests recycling in garden. Bin lid broken. Ironing board cover not attached. Would have been nice for some Milk in the fridge? Fridge light not working? Socket in the dining room sparked when iron plugged in.

Location

Broken back door handle (dangerous if there was a fire) No instructions for oven and melted display. Cupboard door in kitchen fell off. Dirty freezer. No knob on fire so couldn’t light it then had a Very rude neighbour banging on the wall and screaming “what are you doing???” When we was trying to light fire and the sliver surround fell off due to missing magnets. No communication even though I contacted the owners via booking.com as soon as I arrived. I’ve since messaged them an additional two times and no reply to rectify this. I’ve messaged through the same system I asked could I pay to take my puppy with us before we stayed and got a reply back straight away with bank details so I know they are receiving messages via this way.

Toilet down stairs but would definitely stay again

A fantastic 2 bed house very close to amenities in Chester, within walking distance of the railway and bus stations and main shopping streets. My friends from Holland and myself stayed for 1 night and were very impressed with everything inside the property and with the price, the Lounge, kitchen bathroom and bedrooms were very well presented and set out and very clean. Parking was at the end of the road in a public carpark costing £4.50 for 24 hrs, a good price for Chester and easy to park and pay. The house is situated in a cul-de-sac so was a quiet street with no passing traffic. Communication from the time of booking to the time of arrival and then departure was excellent from the owners. We would definitely book again if staying in Chester in the future 😀

kitchen definitely need renovation looks old ,broken toilet it's only downstairs, so u need to go downstairs walk by the kitchen to get to the toilet and bathroom

The location was fabulous, the area was lovely, parking (although not on site) was close by and there was an area to walk my dog. Uber deliveries were amazing. The beds were the most comfortable beds, there was plenty of hot water, and a decent shower. The TV coverage was excellent and the sofas were so comfy too. The properly was compact - a maximum of 2/3 adults is enough.

On the surface the property was so lovely. The decor was tasteful with lots of lively little touches and the furniture was good quality - the beds and duvets were amazing. But (and this not in any way spoil or stay) the property was a little ragged round the edges - a week of TLC and minor repairs would fix the aesthetic issues. But on the whole - I was exceptionally pleased with this house and in fact would stay again in a heartbeat.

We booked to stay in this property for three nights as a family with two young children, we were utterly disgusted with the state on the place! Not at all as advertised, absolutely filthy and needing LOTS of work doing! We contacted the owners with our concerns, to which they responded with “we would send a cleaner around, but there would be no point as you would not be happy with this and it would take to long to resolve your concerns” they asked for photos to be sent via WhatsApp and they would offer us a full refund, we sent photos and we’ve been totally ignored since. No reply at all! Completely unprofessional! Every single inch of every single room needed cleaning, the walls were filthy, lots of damp in each room, broken bath panel, broken kitchen cupboards, broken pictures on walls (major hazards with young children) basic hygiene was not met as you can see in the photos provided! Very dusty, cobwebs and spiders in every room, the sofas were heavily soiled as were the pillows on the beds. All surfaces were sticky and unclean - Very disappointed! We did not expect 5* accommodation by all means, but to have a clean, comfortable space was the least we expected. To then be completely ignored by the owners is just unacceptable! Don't waste your time or money on this place!!
