Old Kipper Cottage

There is a small smoke shop only two doors down, so fresh kippers for breakfast was a real treat. The views are stunning and it's only a short walk to the centre.

A wonderful place to stay in Whitby. Central enough to be close to the shops and restaurants but just out the way so nice and quiet.

Location was perfect. Apartment was very big and staff were very helpful and efficient when needed. Well equipped for a 3 night stay for 7 adults.

It's understandable with a property of this size and age but the floors were noticeably dirty downstairs and was a large amount of cobwebs throughout. Ensuite toilet is very difficult to use due to sloping roof.

Location

Bathroom bin had a soiled sanitary towel in it. No grill tray in grill - one was supplied the next day after we asked for one. Baking tray covered in grease. Little patio area could have had rubbish swept up and presented better.

The location was great and it had lots of beds for big families/parties

The low ceiling bar above the stairs!! My husband hit his head and it caused a nasty gash and lots of blood. No signs to warn you of the low ceiling, so very dangerous. It also didn’t feel clean and there were cobwebs and spiders in the corners of the ceilings. The crockery in the kitchen wasn’t clean either Our bedroom curtain didn’t fit to the window , so the light came through as soon as it started getting light. Really awkward to load/unload luggage on the road and can’t really stop on the road for any length of time at all.

The location.

The cottage is really tired and unloved, not all lights and lamps worked, the toilet cistern needs locking at, needs a repaint , some of the beds the mattresses aren’t that great.

Location

Needs modernisation , poor kitchen layout , lack of plug sockets, its scruffy to put it politely.

Lovely property, lovely owner. Had a wonderful week Very close to the beach and whitby abbey
