The Gin Palace with seasonal swimming pool

The Gin Palace is a lovely quirky hideaway on a beautiful site, with great views and a small but very welcome swimming pool (in season).

In a lovely peaceful countryside setting. Beautiful modern heated pool. Quirky but interesting interior decor. Our host was charming and very helpful. The place was clean and the bed comfortable. The barbecue facilities were superb as was the outside seating area.

For me, personally, I would’ve liked a hot plate to cook breakfast on. For those who like eating out or who are happy to use a microwave this wouldn’t be a problem.

We loved the artefacts in The Gin Palace and the history behind them! The house was cosy and comfortable with everything we needed for a countryside escape. We especially enjoyed time around the pool with the stunning views and our evenings around the firepit were perfect. John is a fantastic host with brilliant knowledge. The binder was a lovely addition to read through and learn more about the surroundings (and history behind everything!). We will definitely be back again!

Gin Palace a lovely, quirky, interesting little home. Full of history and antiques. John was a fantastic host. Was on hand whenever needed. Welcomed us in to show us around and give us instructions on how to use the pool and cover etc. Unfortunately we didn't have time to use the pool but im sure we'll be staying again soon to try it out. John had an amazing folder full of laughs and giggles and every piece of information you would ever need. The grounds were intriguing and if you had children they'd also love it too. Full of curiosity and wonder. The location was fantastic. Everything we needed was within a 5 mile drive and we did some lovely walks around the area. Can't recommend enough :)

Nothing really, I didn't like the fact I couldn't stay any longer 🤣, its a shame there isn't space for an oven and hob as sometimes we like to eat in but there is a microwave, kettle and BBQ pit outside. Don't be put off by having to pay for your electric. We didn't even use £2 for a 2 night stay!

Clean, comfortable accommodation. Pool and outdoor areas fab for children. Friendly and helpful host.

The location was excellent and the host John was very welcoming. The accommodation was very quirky but comfortable.
