The Gin Palace with seasonal swimming pool

Love the open fire and back patio with that stunning view - and the visits from the hens in the morning! Great welcome and communication from John who had a fire going for us when we arrived.

We love to cook and wasn’t much space for that - however we brought our air-fryer which enabled us to stretch the facilities further and isn’t an issue if you know what to expect. Shower pressure is a little weak but wouldn’t deter me from staying again.

View was amazing and very cosy when wood burner going. Owner kindly got fire going before I arrived and put my hot bed blanket on.

The description on the site did not provide full details. The only heat is the wood burner (no wood provided) or portable electric heaters. There was an £1 coin operated electric metre and the heaters used the electricity very quickly. The heaters did not heat the cottage effectively. It was very cold. BBC channels did not work on the tv

Lovely location and views. Host was very friendly and helpful. would be lovely in summer when pool open.

Would of liked a cooker or hob and better heating.

I went away for Christmas to escape all the rush and to have peace and quite and that's what I got was lovely log burner was so warm the host was so kind and warm welcome

The cottage was beautiful, the location is amazing and John was an amazing host and very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this cottage and will definitely be returning soon
