"Very much on my list of places to revisit and stay again."

10.0

It has its very own charm and character. After a very busy and full on day at work, the peace and tranquility was a real tonic (no pun intended). Being able to cook outside of an open flame, priceless. Views were amazing.

Absolutely nothing.

"Hidden Gem"

10.0

I had a wonderful warm welcome from the host John, a lovely fire on the go when I arrived. His information folder is exceptional and definitely worth a read, provided a good few giggles. The place is very well maintained and the grounds are stunning, the bench at the top of the hill is a must to see the sunset. Iv had a wonderful time and this place is definitely a hidden gem and we'll worth a visit ✨️ 😊.

Absolutely nothing 😊

"Not a good experience"

5.0

The location was lovely, and the host was friendly on arrival.

Well, where can I start ? There are very mixed reviews on here, and I want to be completely honest. The palace was dusty and dirty throughout , and many pictures proved this. To have no running hot water to wash our hands and cutlery and plates are very basic, and to me, should always be provided. The house is very cold , the wood burner is cosy but once you move to the bathroom, kitchen or bedroom it's cold. The oil filled radiators do not give much heat either and will eat up your coins you have to put in the meter. . I loved the location and host, but because of the facilities and cleanliness, we decided to leave a day early . Very disappointed overall. SORRY JOHN

"A nice, peaceful breal"

7.0

Beautiful, remote location and a very quirky property. John, the host, is very friendly and attentive. A really lovely place.

It was very cold and heating it using the log burner and oil heaters (self-paid electricity meter) ended up fairly expensive. I would have brought thick socks and slippers plus thicker jumpers had I known how cold the property would be in April. It also wasnt clean enough for my liking. I appreciate it is a quirky cottage on a farm but it clearly doesnt have a deep clean ever, just a light touch over the most-used surfaces. There were dead flies/creatures in the corners on the floors and window ledges. An occasional deeper clean would make a big difference to the feel of this place.

"Superb"

9.0

The location was wonderful and although the other cottages are close, it is still very quiet. Theres no noise from passing traffic and theres a few animals on site that make for great company 😊

I would've liked to have a cooker in the cottage, but it didn't bother me too much as I was only there for 2 days and there were enough local places to source food.

"Relaxing and beautiful time away"

10.0

Was welcomed by the owner on arrival who was so friendly and made us feel really welcome, the gin palace was beautiful, with lots of artifacts on the walls which we found very interesting, the location itself was beautiful open fields with free roaming chickens, and beautiful views the perfect place for a no stress trip away, great value for money and I would definitely love to stay again

"The palace just oozes peace and tranquillity"

10.0

We were visiting friends in Wrexham and didn’t want to be close to the hustle and bustle of the busy town. We found the Gin Palace to be extremely relaxing and beautiful. I normally wince at the thought of a different bed but as previous reviews comment it is like sleeping on a cloud! The property is set in superb well maintained grounds with some fury friends along the way. John was an excellent host & we will return again.
