Little Heatherlea

Nice and reasonably well-equipped kitchen, and plenty of space for two people in the cottage. Quiet location with good access to interesting places in Northumbria. Easy parking.

The cottage was let down by poor quality bedlinen (shiny non-cotton duvet which really wasn't nice to sleep under) and no bedside tables (there wasn't much space but still essential, and even a stool is fine). Also felt the bedroom curtains were poor quality and ill-fitting and that all the cleaning stuff should not live in the wardrobe - a cupboard in the living room would be ideal. So the bedroom didn't feel great or comfortable, and while I love books, it felt like the cottage had become the storage space for way too many cast-offs rather than curating what guests might like. Lots of walkers and nature lovers go there, I imagine, so some guides to birds and animal identification plus a few novels would be great.

Beautiful location, well kept and cosy cottage. Immaculate and attention to detail. Everything is there!

Homely feel. Warm and cosy. Quiet surroundings. Lovely local people. Access to parking. Hassle free access (I.e, door code), personable and friendly host with good communication.

The property is high on a hill above Rothbury, with a nearby footpath down to the town. Rothbury has several pubs, restaurants and a supermarket. The property is spacious and modern, with a comfortable living area and kitchen, a large bedroom and a great bathroom with a bath. This is a great location for walks and visits to local tourist attractions. The hosts are very welcoming and helpful.

The property is joined to the main house and above a room in the main house. There is an extraction pipe directly under one of the bedroom windows which was quite noisy when in use. We would have preferred curtains that blacked out more light.
