Suite ortigia vista mare

The location was great, the view was beautiful, and the host was an excellent communicator.

The suite was tiny. When the sofa bed was open , there was no room to walk around. There was way too much clutter on the shelves, so it was hard to find a place to put things.

The spot is perfect, one can enjoy an Italian lifestyle by the sea in the heart of a historical district.

The property is honest does not offer what it was not there. Perfect for a couple or individuals. The bad experience and the bitter aftertaste comes from the big mouth and lies of the host. The accommodation as it is fine and we had no direct issues there. However as we did - just like most people will- arrived to Siracusa downtown with a rental car our host convinced us that we are good to park the car because he had reported the license plate to the authorities. Regardless of his convincing words there was a parking fine in our windscreen of our rental car the next morning after arrival. The host Angelo convinced us to ignore that and ensured us that he will take care of it as he is a member along the local police community. Two months after our holiday my credit card was charged by the rental car company. They received the unpaid fine on the car from the Siracusa police department. Angelo had started to convince us that it is a mistake and he took and will take care of everything. He did nothing. We ended up with an extra 30 euros charge for something we never committed. Angelo came again with his Sicilian convincing style that no problem he will pay us back and ready to transfer the 30 euro fine to us. Angelo provided proofs of proving nothing as the 30 euros is still traveling somewhere and two weeks was not enough to reach our account - a transfer from EU to EU most probably never takes more than 4 days. Enjoy the accommodation but believe nothing your host is saying as he is not telling the truth and obviously after we paid for our stay he had no interest to compensate the loss we encountered because of his big empty words. Final thoughts: don’t get us wrong we would have paid the parking fine if we had committed the fault so the sun is not the issue but think twice before you trust such host who in our case calls himself Angelo, but we call him Angelo the unreliable, the liar.

I really liked everything, but first of all, it was amazing to listen the sound of the sea at night. Angelo, the host was really nice and helped me in everything. I also liked the design and first of all the floor.

Beautiful cosy pad in a lovely setting by the sea in Ortigia,Syracuse.Sitting outside at 6.30 am watching the sun rise was amazing.Our host was very attentive and kept our luggage for a time after we departed.

Though very comfortable there was a shortage of space which made the area a bit cramped,especially when the sofa bed was open .

A very unique apartment in the centre of Ortigia, ideal for couples or solo travellers. The entire experience from the moment we walked in, was fantastic. Angelo made us feel very welcomed and was always available on phone if we needed anything. I can highly recommend this place if you are in Syracusa!

Nothing

The photos give you a sense of much more beautiful and polished place. It is tiny studio looking being used for a while. When I arrived, i had to make my own bed out of sofa. The mattress of the sofa is in pretty worn out condition. The bed literally covers the entire room. The unit is advertised as with noise isolation but it is NOT. It is very noisy. You hear all the cars and bikes the entire night. I could hear all those noises even with ear plugs. Just could not sleep while I booked the unit specifically because it was advertised as having noise isolation. I was truly super disappointed.

Great location with the sea on your doorstep. Managed to wake up early and step out to watch the sunrise which was wonderful. Right next to a little platform and big rock people like to sunbathe on and jump into the sea so was lovely to have that on my doorstep.

I didn’t realise when booking that the bed was a sofa bed, it was not very comfortable. Once the bed was out, there was basically no space to move. Overall the space is very small, more like a room with an en-suite than an apartment. For what you get, I think the price is quite expensive. Checkout was at 11am, at 10:50/55 I was getting changed to leave, someone (owner or cleaner, I’m not sure) unlocked the front door and walked in without knocking to find me getting changed - NOT OK! I had informed the owner that I would be leaving around 11am so this really should not have happened.

The host welcomed us with very good preparation. He responded to my questions quickly and helped me much in finding the suite to enjoy the fantastic environment. The location at Ortigia is very good to access swimming spots and watch sunrise just outside the main door of the suite.
