Chichester Retreat with Large Private Mature Garden

Fabulous location, and character property. Convenient for our trip to Goodwood Circuit. Loved the house and all the lovely rooms.

The house and the grounds are a little tired and could do with some tlc. It's all clean and lovely though and we'd be happy to stay there again.

Large property, great social spaces and huge garden, a lovely space to chill out with the family. Plenty of games to play, musical instruments and trampoline and play area.

One of the bedrooms was accessed by a bedroom. Some rooms were a bit cold due to windows but it’s an old character property so to be expected

No info or welcome pack so struggled to switch on hot water. No instructions for hot tub & when switched on it didn't heat. Oven didn't come to temp on 1st night. No instructions but suspect loose dial as it worked after much fiddling next day. House is gorgeous but stay marred by all of the above. We were there over Easter at times without hot water & worried we were unable to cook Easter Sunday lunch. Called owner twice. Email Responses after 24 hrs weren't helpful.

The house was perfect for our family stay: it was characterful and there was plenty of living space downstairs with a great dining area which accommodated us all well; the bedrooms were all roomy and comfortable and could have slept extra guests; the garden was fab with a huge, safe lawn for children; ample parking space for all the cars and there were loads of lovely extras like the games, veggie box, toiletries. We loved it!

It's an old building so the showers weren't great - especially the one above the bath - and in January, there were a couple of damp/drafty spots in the house. We were only there for 2 nights so the above mentioned didn't spoil our stay but it would be good to have better showers for a longer stay/in the summer after a hot day.

The property was large and spacious for 8 of us.

Needs a refresh in some areas and a bigger oven would have been great. The shower over bath was temperamental.

Great property really large, very comfortable & warm. So many toiletries & fully equipped kitchen. We were there for a 70th birthday & cooked a marvellous meal. Great communication with owner
