Lovely quaint cottage with wonderful views. Very quiet

Not very clean, a lot of pet hair and crumbs between sofa cushions especially the leather sofa. Burnt food on the oven racks, crumbs in one of the single beds and also beads from a broken bracelet/ necklace over the twin room floor. Also lacking in some basic amenities such as baking trays for the oven which made it difficult to cook much, replacement bin bags and a bath mat

"Dead wasps, an unfair rental contract and a tedious pre-check-in."

5.0

Views, close to Matlock Bath, cool in the summer, self check in, they returned the deposit promptly

Half dead wasps all over the bedroom floor. BEWARE: Booking process was very stressful. The booking portal requests £100 by debit card (via a seperate portal called "pillow partners"), multiple selfies for facial recognition, uploading of ID documents, signing a long and very landlord friendly contract which demands stripping of beds, and other chores which make the £70 cleaning fee seem like a gift. Property is managed by a big company and lacks a personal touch. Spent the whole trip worrying about the excessive number of ways one can lose £100 (or more). These terms and conditions are not presented before booking and yet the place is non-refundable so if you disagree they keep the money - which is illegal! For £135 a night, too much stress.

Location was good. Cottage was comfortable and clean.

Tiny back yard, especially if you have dogs. They don't like having to do their business on slate.

"Beautiful, peaceful cottage with exceptional views"

10.0

The view was stunning. Location was excellent, the cottage had everything we needed. The yard to the rear and front was enclosed so was excellent for our dogs. Dog bowls were available. We had milk, orange juice, wine and chocolates waiting for us upon arrival which was a lovely touch The beds were very comfortable. The Cottage was spacious, warm and comfortable.

Parking was tricky, couldn't get close to the cottage so had to unload the car on the street then find a parking space. We managed ok though 😀

The views were absolutely amazing, the cottage itself was lovely and clean and cosy

Parking was a nightmare,we parked in the council car park across the road because getting a spot to park was horrendous, you had to pay to watch the television which was unfortunate

"Lovely cottage, good location. Very clean."

8.0

Lovely cottage and the view was amazing. Bed was really comfortable, and everything was really clean. Good location and we went on some great walks from the property Matlock Bath is a lovely town.

If you don’t like walking up hills then this would not be for you. But we didn’t have any issues with this. And loved the cottage and its location.

The cottage was lovely overall very homely and well equipped with a lovely yard and beautiful views. The location is great in the heart of matlock Bath which is a lovely little place ideal for nice walks but also close enough to pubs and places to eat

The walk up was steep, parking was an issue due to narrow roads and nowhere to park. The deposit of £100 is high and the cleaning fee of £80 (included in price) is steep.
