"The cottage looked good on the surface, but the TV wasn't working, and bed linen old and bobbly"

5.0

Location is really precarious - very high up, narrow roads to drive on in the dark, and no parking nearby. It would not be suitable for elderly or unfit people, we had to relocate our elderly family members to another flat we had rented as it was impossible for them to walk up the very bad drive way and there are steps - beautiful location and views but not ideal for everyone - if you can't walk well or aren't fit do not book here - or plan to use the car

"Perfect place to explore Matlock Bath, we’ll be back!"

10.0

Such a gorgeous cottage and the location is fantastic. Amazing views from the front windows and pet friendly seating area. Lovely little log burner in the dining room and gas fire in the sitting room which kept us toasty on the chilly evenings. Even better than the pictures show…. And so clean, cosy, comfortable and welcoming.

Nothing really, would be an idea to leave a bathmat as the floor can get a bit wet from the shower but we just bought a cheap one from Sainsbury’s. Parking isn’t really a problem like some people mentioned…. We just dropped the luggage etc off then parked around the corner- a 2 min walk.

"The views are outstanding"

10.0

I really like the views. I love that when you was there in the illuminations that you could see all of the fireworks. The neighbours were friendly and matt like a Matlock bath in general is somewhere that everyone should visit.

"Second stay."

8.0

The location and view. The cottage is cosy, our second visit, ideal location to Matlock's sights.

Other reviews have mentioned the untidiness of the outside areas of the adjoining the properties and cats, we weren't bothered by any cats and the heritage mini was not a problem. I suppose you have to understand the cottage is amongst people's homes and be accommodating to this. The shower though is very weak and the toilet flush is temperamental.

"Beautiful view a short walk to the village."

9.0

View was beautiful and was very quiet location.

The toilet didn’t flush so well which was tricky with 3 friends staying.

"Lovely homely cottage, worth every penny"

9.0

The double bed was very comfy. The cottage was cosy and welcoming. Very nicely decorated with good kitchen facilities. It's a good steep hike up to the cottage but the views are worth every muscle toning step.

"Cheap, ok for a couple of nights, neighbour mess needs sorting, and hill walk be"

5.0

No parking anywhere near property, to boot a rusty old mini is dumped in front. Not to mention next doors cats who pester you and left a rat on morning of day 1 on the mat for us! There are steep hills to property which is expected in area. What I did not expect was no local shop within walking distance to serve milk or basics. You have to go to next village to Sainsbury’s, with no parking close then a walk up and down hill from car park.
