Unique house on riverside - castle views - Barnard Castle

The property is beautiful and spacious and exactly what we needed for the weekend. The owner is very thoughtful down to every detail; the heating was out on for us before we arrived, the communication was excellent and there were even things like tea/coffee and a little Bluetooth speaker to play our own music through.

Just got back from a 3 night stay here. Absolutely beautiful inside and out. We stayed awake for hours at night just watching river through the 2 comfortable swing chairs in the window. The house was immaculate, warm and non of us wanted to leave. The beds where super comfortable and we all slept like babies! Close to the shops and 2 minutes from a supermarket. The bath and shower was immaculate with great warmth and power. Stayed here with my husband, daughter and her 3 children- Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking about booking. You won't find anywhere better x

The accommodation was really good, loved the layout and decoration. Lovely and clean, comfy beds, plenty of comfy couches in living room and all rooms very spacious. It is well situated just had to watch getting across the road to go to the castle. We loved the views from all the back windows and loved to sit in the comfy chairs chatting and watching the river and the many ducks. It had everything we needed for our yearly get together of four close friends. Barnard Castle has some lovely places to eat and enjoy a drink plenty of lovely shops and cafes and some beautiful scenery whilst out walking. The owner was very approachable and helpful keeping us well informed in the lead up to our stay. We would definitely return .

Period exterior with tasteful modern interior.Scenic river side location with excellent views of the castle.Free on street parking nearby & a short walk up hill to town centre.

Please note the following comment is NOT a dislike but more of a take note..The toilet is very small and very little room! But there is the main bathroom to use upstairs.

We loved the view to the castle amd bridge. Great short walk to shops and cafes and lots of riverside walks on the doorstep. Lovely owner. Would like to return!

Beautiful house with outstanding views, lots of space, immaculately clean. We wished we’d booked for longer!

We loved the house but it was on a very busy road junction. With uneven steps and sash windows opening onto sheer drops it’s not a house for the elderly and small children.
