The accomodation was super clean and the kitchen, bathroom and bedrooms well equipped. You have everything you need for cooking or making a wash. Further, its on the edge to the wonderful old city of Ortiga and it takes just a few steps to be fully emerged in the stunning labyrinth of little streets. But the best was the welcome of our host Imma. She welcomed us as warmly as if we hadn't seen each other for a long time. What a perfect start to enjoy Ortigia.

The room in the back was a bit damp. Keep that in mind when drying your wash. And better close the windows to the front over night as the market close to the accomodation wakes up for sure earlier than you do ;)

The host is unbelievable. She baked us a cake and provided fresh fruit and juice from her garden.

Nothing. There are a lot of comments about the stairs. The stairs are very steep but that’s common in Europe. We didn’t have a problem with them. The rest of the experience more than made up for this.

Location and excellent hostess

Nothing.

The location was fabulous. We parked our car very close to unload and then parked it very close. I hate dragging suitcases for miles! The owner was lovely, providing us with tasty homemade goodies when we arrived! The apartment is small but well stocked and very quiet despite being so central. The beds were comfortable and clean.

If I was unstable, the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms would be very hard to manoeuvre. Our family was fine with them though. The kitchen/sitting area was quite small but we didn’t stay there much - the town is so gorgeous and yummy food so plentiful and we were out most of the time.

Our host Immacolata made us feel very welcome and provided us with fruit from her property, and homemade crostata pie topped with almonds. So generous. The location is perfect as we managed to park the car in front of the apartment. Lots of restaurants around and just a short walk to the main square in Ortigia.

We loved the place and Immacolata is a superb host but the main bedrooms are up a steep staircase and we didn't bring our luggage up. It would not suit older folk. There is a single bedroom downstairs where the bathroom is located.

The host, Immaculata, was wonderful and welcoming. We arrived to warm embraces, freshly-squeezed orange juice, and a homemade tarte. The two upstairs bedrooms are lovely. The only problem is that one has to climb a very steep, metal staircase to reach them. I'm a little wobbly, so I chose to use the third bedroom, which was on the ground floor, next to the bathroom. I was conflicted about this since the upstairs option was so inviting. Immaculata's linens are gorgeous, some hand-embroidered. She was flexible as well as very available and responsive to questions. The location was perfect. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

I did miss having a sitting room, but appreciated the bedroom on the ground floor. The staircase was a challenge, but I knew about it in advance. My friend had no problem, and Immaculata whipped up and down it carrying furniture.

Location location location! And the great host.

The mattress was really hard and not comfortable. Also its good flat for 1-3 Days but for a longer stay I would miss the day light.

Superb location. 10 steps to the daily market. 10 steps from to the best (and fair price) restaurant (Divino Mare) and 10 steps to the best coffee / Granita (Gelateria Pasticceria). The owner Imma is so sweet and kind. When we arrived she served her homemade cookies for us and the best homemade Strawberry orange granita / homemade apricot jam ans marmalade. Fresh fruits from her garden in the fridge. House is decorated with her own paintings. Kitchen and bathrooms equipped with all we needed. Place is clean. Bedrooms upstairs are big. But need to climbed up small steep stairs. But that’s ok for us.

The handle of the shower was broken. I hope it’s fixed soon. This is not a problem for us. And the small steep stairs to claim up to 2 bedrooms. This can be fun for kids and young people. But there is a bedroom with single bed on the ground floor too.

My friend and I arrived by car during the G7 and couldn’t get into town because of the traffic chaos. Even parking stations were closed. Immacolata kindy came and found us, and brought our luggage and us to her lovely home. To our surprise she had cooked us lunch which was waiting for us on the table along with other goodies in the fridge. She was such a lovely lady and wonderful host. Her property is in the perfect location right near the markets and easy to get around. It was very clean and she has put a lot of love into it as it was owned by her parents before. She even has her paintings on the wall that she painted during the lockdown. Would highly recommend her place to anyone going to Ortigia looking for the perfect place and host.
