Luciano is a great host. He greeted us and showed us everything in the apartment. He shared information & brochures with suggestions of what to see. We had arrived in the evening so the view from the small balcony was spectacular. He recommended a local restaurant that we went to for dinner - Osteria Pico. Reasonably priced and good sized portions. The waitress guided us on what to get and not get. Easy walk into the Sassi. Steps to climb back up, though. The apartment has nice touches: breads and Nutella/jams, fridge has waters and some sodas & juice, elegant toiletries, enough kitchen appliances & utensils to make coffee/tea or full meal. Big bath towels, fans in bathroom & bedroom help keep the apartment from getting musty. Washer in balcony is easy to use and keeps the noise & steam out of the apartment. Bathroom has good water pressure and nice hot water. It is on a quiet street, close to the Christmas market, but far from any noise.

Not a negative, just a suggestion, a hook or two in the bathroom would be a good addition to be able to hang clothes or towel while you shower.

The apartment is a gorgeous little limestone cave with a breathtaking view from the small balcony. The host is super helpful and also gives you a guide and map of the town and tells you everything you need to know. Absolutely amazing place ❤️

This was booked for a birthday weekend. A really lovely cave apartment with a beautiful view. Great location, kitchen facilities and the host was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed having the choice of cafes for breakfast too. Amazing value for money and exceeded our expectations. Grazie mille

The property is very conveniently located for exploring Matera. It sits on a side street so no traffic noise at all. And the view matches the photo. It has all the conveniences you could want, with markets within a few blocks as well as numerous restaurants. We loved our stay and would go back again. Highly recommend.

The view from the little balcony at night was worth a million dollars. You could just sit and contemplate and absorb the beauty of the cathedral and houses lit up as if there were part of a nativity scene.

The only challenge is walking from the paid parking garage to the room if you have heavy bags.

This property is perfect for exploring Matera. The location is fantastic and the inclusion of breakfast as local cafes and secure parking just made it even better. Luciano was an excellent host even coming out after midnight to meet us after a long flight delay. I would happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to visit Matera.

There wasn’t anything to dislike about the property.

This beautiful cave apartment is a hidden gem, tucked away yet very close to the main piazza. Very convenient as there is a bakery, small supermarket and fresh fruit market nearby. I don't usually leave reviews but felt I had to as Luciano was a perfect host, thoughtful, and super helpful. It felt like a home and had everything we needed and of course stunning views from the balcony!

It’s location was great, in a quiet lane way. It was built into the rock making it very special. The view was brilliant.

The apartment was in a great location with a wonderful view. Luciano was very helpful and had lots of good suggestions on what to do and where to eat. We stayed during a heatwave and the apartment was mostly comfortable despite not having air conditioning. It was very well equipped and lots of supplies left for guests.

A fan would have been good to use at night.
