Superb location, view and well equipped one bedroom apartment! We’ll be back!

Incredible views from this apartment very close to a piazza. The apartment is comfortable and spacious and close to activities and restaurants. The parking is about four blocks away and difficult to find. The host met us and directed us to the parking garage so he eliminated a problem. Luciano was very helpful with the issue and wsith restaurant recommendations.

The only possible negative is sthat there are quite a few steps to get to the apartment, but that's to be expected in this amazing city of many steps. I strongly recommend this this apartment.

Nice apartments with amazing city view from small balcony. Everything looks better then in photo. Got everything we need. Free parking, breakfast in caffe. Apparment is in the cave but very cozy and modern.

Location was perfect beautiful views from the verandah especially at night very spacious Clean and it was beautifully decorated had everything you needed especially for longer stays So close to dining shopping but a quiet and unique place to stay we loved Matera and our accommodation

We loved staying in this cave house, it had everything we needed. Was right in the centre only a few steps to the piazza and the cafes and restaurants. We loved the view over the sassi out the back door. We ate at three of the breakfast cafes and found Vittorio Veneto by far superior. Parking was well organised and easy.

I struggled to find the location which is hard to find until I realised the host was meeting us at the local bank in the main Vento square and then pleasantly surprised the fabulous cave apartment was literally yards away.great service you do need to be met by the host…

Just instructions on how best to meet the host or where. Just a suggestion if the host knows you are travelling by car it would be ideal to meet at his allocated underground parking and then walk the 100 yards to the apartment. Not the apartment and parking could not be better placed.

I used to think outstanding was a high achievement but now I know perfection is indeed possible. From being met at the parking facility to being shown around the lovely cave dwelling and enjoying all the mod cons that are provided. The situation is fantastic, the facilities and atmosphere of luxury Iiving in a cave style dwelling amazing. The breakfasts at the three selected places are all good but we found Tivoli the best by far. Highly recommended to both young and old travellers. A massive thank you to the host as Matera was made extra special living in your accommodation.

Excellent location, within walking distance of the square and surrounding areas. Breakfast vouchers and drinks and biscuits and cakes were a lovely welcome to our stay. Thank you. We will return.

Location , nice view of the Sasso Barisano & Cathedral, very well equipped holiday home very central to both Matera Centre & the Sassi. Spacious holiday home.

There was nothing we did not like.

It was such an adorable, and breathtaking view of an evening in this place. The proprietors went above and beyond their means to make our stay as comfortable as possible, and were always on hand on WhatsApp if needed. This place was right in the heart of Matera, walking distance to everything, whether that be coffee shops, restaurants, tours, cathedrals, even a Michelin Star Restaurant which I would recommend a must do. Exceptional amazing food, and the way they serve some of their dishes, will leave you speechless. It is called Vitantonio Lombardo Ristorante, for those of you that may be interested. Thank you so much Casa Il Gufo e la Papa, it was such an honour to stay in a stunning place like this. Will definitely come back here and stay again, on our next return! Grazie! Grazie! Grazie! 🙏
