Incredible stay at this very beautiful, traditional home. Lovely owner who was very inviting and helpful. We also much preferred this area compared to previously staying right near Kiyomiza Dera where it was way too busy. Overall, great stay, great experience and great location!

Everything. Ono San was a super friendly and helpful host. This is his house and the accommodation is more b&b style, with own facilities and kitchen.

Nothing. The house is old, but that just adds to the charm. It's not fancy, but it has everything you need. We felt at home and wish we could have stayed longer.

Ono is the most gratuitous of hosts, interesting, caring and informative. Great location and fun to stay in a an actual house, simple futon, rustic shower pretty garden and functional kitchenette

Ono-San was a most gracious host. He enthralled us all with his stories and art, and was equally generous with his advice and breakfast supplies. Despite being in the heart of the Gion district, we all slept soundly at cozy Veada on comfortable futons. It was wonderful to have a separate dining area and the garden was magical, even in winter.

Nothing at all, we absolutely loved it. Be aware that it is an old home, filled with character you would expect to develop over time.

The location is excellent. The house is in a quiet residential street an easy walk from Kiyomizu station. The futons were very comfortable . Mr Ono is a wonderful host. He gave suggestions for things to do, provided bread, fruit and yoghurt each day, put our washing through the machine when we needed and helped with luggage forwarding. It is an easy walk to Gion, to Kiyomizudera temple, and the paths along the Kamogawa. A great place to stay with a lovely host.,

The 150-year-old house was really charming, the bedroom was very big, the kitchen was good too and the little garden really lovely. There's an air conditioner in the bedroom and one in the kitchen. Our host was fabulous, he's very kind and thoughtful and gave us lots of infos about the neighbourhood and also showed us some old amazing temples nearby. He's always there in case you need help or have questions. Comfy and warm futons!

No heating in the bathroom.

It is definitely an experience. Starting with a warm welcome, you have the opportunity to stay in a 150 traditional Japanese house with a garden patio, with all its positives and negatives. Do not expect a hotel standard, cause it is not. But it was worth it. Thank you to the lovely owner, you have our admiration.

The place is old, so it didn't feel the cleaniest. Also, one of the negatives of this kind of acommodation (that people should consider) is that the main room is heated with an AC unit, so the air is quite dry, and outside of the room, it's cold cause it's basically outside.
