Karapiro Retreats holiday house

Great location, excellent facilities, everything you could possibly need and more. So much care and attention has obviously gone into making this special place. Recommended.

Early morning quarry trucks rumble a bit but not a big deal.

Clean and up to date. Had everything we could need! The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils for cooking and had some snacks! The hosts were so accommodating and friendly.

The accommodation was ideal, very well outfitted. The location was ideal, in the countryside but just 10 minutes from the town of Cambridge and 15 minutes from Hobbiton. Mike and Cai were very helpful hosts. Amongst the best places we have ever stayed at.

Really well equipped. Very clean modern property. The views and peaceful surroundings were outstanding. Having the goats Valarie and Ginger on hand was a lovely touch. It would be lovely to see them in the future roaming around the field. My daughter loved visiting them everyday

Not a dislike more of what could enhance the stay. The aircon in the living area was a godsend having bug screens on the windows or aircon in the bedrooms would make the stay super comfortable

The location was a great get-away from it all, the house was very homely with little extras much appreciated! Hosts were great with communication and respected privacy - the goats were friendly and enjoyed the company too haha. The house was clean and the design so pleasant, the open space and verandah was inviting to spend all day watching the magnificent scenery. If you're looking to unwind, this is a perfect place to stay, and is about 15min drive from Hobbiton if you have that on your list of things to do!

The holiday house is lovely, clean, and comfortable, and has everything we needed. It's well situated with a beautiful view in every direction. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The host emailed me the door code during the day of my arrival. Because I had no cell service in New Zealand and was driving to Karapiro and therefore not on wi-fi, I had no access to email and did not have the code to enter when I arrived. I also could not access the holiday house's wi-fi to get the code because I didn't yet have the password. I had to call the host to get into the house.

Very comfortable beds with a nice outlook over the countryside. A well appointed kitchen made it easy to self cater. It was easy to find and enter the property. Our son particularly enjoyed seeing the farm animals close to the house.
