Birdsong Cottage

The encouragement of Tui's eating in the backyard was fantastic - you are able to watch the bird life up close and personal, and of course hear the bird song...

we were met by Susan the owner of the property who advised that the cottage was unlocked

We were very pleasantly surprised by the spacious accommodation, beautifully appointed, and every detail thought through by incredibly caring hosts. Cheese, crackers, lollies and milk were provided. It is private and the entrance is surrounded by beautiful bush. Feeding stations and outdoor bird baths attract a multitude of tūīs, quail, parrots and we even saw a Kererū fly down for a drink. We are Wellington locals and found the cottage so peaceful we decided not to go out for dinner but to stay on the back step with snacks and wine and watch the birds. A great place to rest and relax and yet only a few minutes to Coastlands. Absolutely superb and highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful, peaceful location yet close to Paraparaumu and only 45 mins from the Wellington ferry. Spacious bedroom and bathroom, separate dining room and lovely deck with comfy chairs and rugs where one can listen to and observe the bird life.

Location excellent. No breakfast but cheese and biscuits to have with our wine in the evening

Everything was fine - just as we expected

The cottage was beautifully presented and had a delightful outlook, communication was excellent and we really appreciated all the little extras.
