Pátio da Muralha

Raphael was amazingly helpful. Drove us and our luggage into the walled city. On arrival he showed us fruit, milk, bread, ham and cheese that he had bought for us. NO ONE else has ever done that. Thankyou so much Raphael.

We were surprised by the spacious and well-equipped apartment and the huge garden. The host was super kind, he took care of every detail that we needed, from breakfast to getting to know the local ginja drinking tradition. The apartment itself is decorated in a traditional style and its location within the village gives a feeling of returning to the Middle Ages.

Amazing house. A lot of space and well equipped. Sparkling clean (never stayed in such a clean place😁). House had everything you need for the stay. There was no bad/old house smell or damp, which is usually hard to avoid in medieval houses, it smells like in new house! Nicely decorated with a lot of tasty details and history of the house which adds an extra charm. And of course we must mention host Rafael, such a lovely, polite person! Óbidos really nice especially in the evenings when tourists are gone.

Nothing, except that we had to leave this beautiful place and also that cannot rate more than 10 points 😊

I could write a book on all the things i liked. Great location. The house is quiet, charming, and comfortable. Had a fully equipped kitchen with eggs, bread, cheese, croissants, coffee and milk all for our use. Great tv and Wi-Fi. The terraced back yard is wonderful. It is very deep with a fountain, table, chairs and privacy. Everything you need to relax and let the birds serenade you…. And they really do. There is a rooster next door who loves to crow but he just adds to the ambiance. Rafael is a gem. He is such a nice person and so accommodating. Very responsive through WhatsApp. He helped us get our car to convenient, free parking. He then used his car to get our luggage to the house. And at the end of our stay drove us and our luggage back to our car. He suggested restaurants. Rafael took us on a tour of the house and answered all of our questions. Rafael is a 10++++. I know we were in Portugal, but Rafael gave us the name of a great Italian restaurant…12 Apostles. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss it. If you think you’ll like Óbidos during the day, it shines at night when the crowds are gone.

Obviously nothing.

We loved everything about this charming old house. We had room to spare. Plenty of room to relax and cook and eat. The back yard is huge and exceeded our expectations.

Nothing.

Authentic residence with a host who goes much beyond any expectation. Rafael was kind, funny, genuine, helpful, generous and loves to share his ancestors' home. Do not hesitate to stay here! I've traveled in many countries and I can honestly say, the ambience and host were beyond my expectations and experiences. Keep it up!

Rafael is such an awesome host. Staying within the walled city was extremely memorable. We enjoyed it all, but walking around the top of the wall one morning was especially cool. Beautiful, unique experience we will never forget. Rafael was so kind, enthusiastic, and helpful. The house has so much room; he has thought of everything. Thank you again for a wonderful stay! 🧡

Rafeal is an outstanding hosts. He was great with his communications to us, we had all the information that we needed for arrival. He met us at the parking area and picked us up with our bags because he had permission to drive within the walled city. The house was spotless and well equipped. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. There is a very nice patio and garden area in the back which would be a nice place to relax in the warmer weather. The location of the house is perfect for exploring the city.

Nothing except the weather!

There are people who do airbnbs for the money and people who do it for the love of it. Then you have the ones who do it for the promise. Rafael carries on the legacy of his family through this home. Rafael’s hospitality was warm and caring. Know that when staying here you are supporting family from decades ago. This home was originally owned by a local artist (his grandfather) and be welcomed by his art throughout the home. If you want the true experience of inside the wall, be sure to enjoy wine and charcuteries on the amazing patio.
