Fantastic views. Comfortable accommodation, might be hot in summer with no aircon. Difficult to close patio doors.

Bit of a hike up the hillside. Not for the unfit.

Wonderful view from balcony.

Stunning location with views over the Douro. The 1 bedroom apartment was very large and nicely decorated. Fresh bread and pastries delivered to our doorstep was a lovely touch.

There was only a sheer curtain over the living room window so privacy was affected in that room. Other rooms were ok.

Lovely views, fabulous deck and great to have access to a shared pool. Host Carlos didn’t speak a word of English but was most accommodating in every way providing us with requested fans to deal with the heat and also generously offering port cocktails around the pool. Lovely place to escape back to after a day exploring the Douro valley.

Mattress in main room could be replaced.

Fabulous views! Great hosts. Had everything we needed for a great stay

The property is in a nice location at the top of the hill in PINHAO. This town is also reachable by train from Porto. The pictures depicted the property well, communication was done by WhatsApp and definitely adequate. The innkeeper brought up fresh pastel de natas and bread in the morning, which was very nice. The two bedroom house was better than the larger house. Perhaps because it was rainy and damp, there was a musky unpleasant smell in the larger house. Others complained of a sewer smell. This is likely to be common with older pipes. Additionally, we could not get the water to get beyond “warm”- which was met with much displeasure as we were cold. This may be a government / district regulation on temperature – I don’t know. Most likely wouldn’t be a problem in the summer. Those in the two bedroom house did not have either issue. We did not rent the one bedroom house. The bedrooms were nicely furnished, but people complained the mattresses were very hard. If you like a firm mattress, you’ll love it. Plenty of blankets were provided to warm us up (after the lousy shower). Minimally effective space heaters were provided. All in all a decent stay.
