Swales cottage

I chose this cottage for 2 reasons- the location and the parking space. The location was in Texas it was just a short 5 mins walk to the whalebones- bonus there was a bothams bakery on the way. Allocated parking directly opposite the cottage- fantastic.

It wasn’t that I didn’t like the cottage, it’s not what I would describe as luxury but I believe the price matches well given its location. That said had everything we needed and we were very comfortable there. I would consider staying there again. It was. Little difficult to find at first.

The cottage is in a good location within walking distance of Whitby. A bit hard to find even using a satnav but we found it.

I didn’t like the fact that the rooms were carpeted, especially when dogs are allowed to stay. The carpet was old and in need of replacing. As an international traveler it would have been nice if the host provided some tea/coffee/sugar/milk sachets as that is something that travelers do not normally carry with them as they are usually provided in guest houses etc. Also 4pm seems a tad late for check in.

Great location, parking space for car, lovely sized cottage with plenty of space, dog friendly and host was great (answered questions I had promptly before arriving and checked all was good on arrival 😊). We stayed for 2 nights and packed so much in! Cottage is in a lovely spot and handy to so many places. Can’t wait to go back 🐾🐾🐾

After reading the reviews we were worried about staying but the cottage was absolutely fine. Issues previously mentioned had been sorted.

The cottage is in an excellent location in the centre of Whitby, just a short walk from the West Cliff whale bones, Captain Cook's statue and all of the other great things Whitby has to offer. It is also very spacious and had everything you could possibly need. The beds and sofa bed were very comfortable and the sheets/duvet covers were of very good quality. The pillows were excellent and we all had a fantastic nights sleep each night we were there.
