Brockwell - 2 Bed Modern Home, Near City Centre

A very pleasant and well looked after home with nice furniture and well thought out touches throughout. A very lovely useful welcome pack of essentials and treats. It is in a quiet and convenient location for Durham within easy access to the A1/M but not too close for noise issues. Definitely use it again..

Being picky but the second bedroom mattress did not quite fit in the frame so was elevated on one side and meant you rolled into the middle but was a very good one in a nice ornate frame. We went in winter for a graduation ceremony, the house is designed to be small, so it could not facilitate a big dining table which for us 4 meant we eat off trays (provided) or in shifts at the 2 seat table.

Would have liked a tv in the bedroom, but did not impact our enjoyment or comfort during our stay

The welcome gift of breakfast was a nice touch.

No room for a dining table.

We booked the property for 2 weeks for my daughter to stay in whilst she was on a uni placement nearby and not local to her uni or our home. Having 2 bedrooms we were also able to come and stay with her for long weekends. We travelled from home to Durham by train, so didn’t have access to a car during our stay. It cost around £13-£14 to travel to/from the train station to the house by taxi (Uber), which is same as it would cost to travel the same distance where we live. The house is in a good location, was clean and well equipped. Having an extended stay and work uniforms to wash, it was a godsend having a washer/dryer in the kitchen. It was a nice touch to be provided with a welcome pack containing tea, coffee, butter, milk, eggs, cereal, bread, jam and a bottle of Prosecco too. We also had an online supermarket food delivery which arrived at the property without any issues. There’s also a petrol station with a shop across the road and a few minutes walk from the house to buy basic food and toiletry items etc. We visited Durham town centre frequently and caught the bus, the journey took approx 10-15 mins. The bus stop is only around 1 minute walk from the property and cost £2 each way, or free for my husband who has a bus pass. I would definitely stay here again should we visit Durham in the future and I wouldn’t hesitate recommending it to others.

Spotless, comfortable and well equipped property. Many thanks for all the extra touches that made our stay even more welcoming. Very convenient for visiting family in the area - we will definitely come here again.

Cottage nice and clean liked the welcome package

On booking .com said the cottage was closer to the centre taxis were very expensive

It was very easy to collect the keys on arrival although we didn't realise there was a back gate to access the garden to get the keys. Was a lovely touch to find Bread, Milk, Eggs, Jam & a bottle of prosecco. Was so nice and very welcoming, Beds were very comfortable and house comfortable in general

We felt the shower could have been a better but was OK for a short stay

A fantastic stay. Everything we needed and more. Really nice touch to have the welcome pack on arrival. A 5-10 minute drive to and from City centre. Will definitely use again when we plan to return. Many thanks.
