Getaway Country Cottage -Entire House w/ Fireplace

When busy people are urged to "touch grass" to relax and reduce anxiety, this cottage fits the bill. It's in a woodsy, rural environment, yet in less than 10 minutes, you can enjoy shops & restaurants. Our activities were primarily in New Bern, and it was an easy 20-minute drive to downtown. As for the cottage, all the amenities were available - wifi, air-conditioning plus fans in each room, closets with hangers, plenty of linens, an abundance of pillows, a super clean refrigerator & freezer, plenty of lighting, and personal items such as soap, hair dryer, and cleaning items. Parking is easy. The host is delightful and attentive.

A second bathroom would be a nice addition.

Very cute older home ! Had everything we needed even tho we mainly slept and showered only. But really nice outside pavilion where we were able to have a little Birthday party for my 1 y o granddaughter!! The bathroom needed a little more Tlc in cleaning but I owner will see about getting that done for the next guest. Bed was Very comfortable! Not so much for the furniture 😊😜but enjoyed it and I m sure others will too.

The bathroom tub are wasn’t clean well. The floors in living room going into bedrooms and in the kitchen slopped!

The place is an older cute country house in a quiet area which sits on a large property. It is about 15 minutes from historic downtown New Bern, about 25 minutes from Kinston and about an hour from the beach. It was clean, all newer appliances and has central AC and Heating for the downstairs. The upstairs bedroom has its own space heater and air-conditioning. There was also an outdoor covered dining area. The master bedroom had a queen bed, the 2nd small downstairs bedroom had a twin bed and the upstairs bedroom had what I believe was a full bed. The TV worked fine but we didn't use it much. Plenty of hot water! The area was quiet, except for an occasional car driving by. It has 2 family rooms; one with a TV and 1 without.

I guess if I had a complaint. It is a minor one which is the convertable living room couch. like many convertibles, it is not super comfy but ok. Not an issue for us, but I would like to mention again this is an older country home. It has had some settling over the years, so the floor is not completely level and the stairs to the second floor are steep. Just something to consider if you have mobility issues.

Perfect location, not in high traffic area but 9 minutes from who we came to visit. Highly recommend the NC Aquarium at Pine Knolls.
