We absolutely loved the location, the views from the hobbit house and the privacy. Gorgeous spacious property.

The fridge was quite dirty on arrival.

The location was great, the view spectacular. Lovely light and airy.

Need a 4x4 to reach door. Parked at bottom of a 40m steep hill, a small challenge with bags. A bath would be nice.

Everything. Well equipped kitchen, iron, extra heaters for the colder days/nights were a great touch! It’s a nice spacious property. I loved it! If you arrive at night the path to the property is well lit. The little cuddle chair reading corner was perfect to enjoy a book. I can imagine the decking and garden would be fantastic in the summer months. Lovely hosts, overall hard to fault. See next para for more info.

The only issue I had was the entrance gate drive which the owner had warned me about because the recent weather had eroded it and it’s quite steep. I’m in a van so I was able to reverse up which required a bit of skill. But that will be rectified for future guests I am told. Also if you aren’t confident driving single track lanes this property won’t be for you. The hosts don’t deserve to get negative feedback for this because it is supposed to be a quiet tucked away retreat. There was absolutely nothing I didn’t like though about this stay, be warned you need good study footwear to get up the hill (walking boots or wellies) but I promise it is so WORTH IT when you get up there!! The only regret I had was I hadn’t booked a couple of extra nights and would have loved to have stayed longer.

The view was lovely, it was nice and quiet & had everything you could need. We really appreciated the 11am check out.

Took us a while to figure out all the switches. Maybe a little guide would be useful.

After the loss of my only daughter I needed some space, wilderness Lodge was so quiet and calm, it was so peaceful and with everything there that I could want the whole experience was fabulous, the sunrise was stunning , what a little gem it is .
