Excellent value and superb location

It was lovely everything you needed was there. Spotless. Just a fabulous little place.

Friendly hosts and the barn is ideal for a couple of days away. A good base for walking and handy for the Church inn ( great food and atmosphere). Dog friendly as well, which is great for our Labrador. All in a great wee place to holiday .

cosy, self contained accommodation

The place was really clean and the host was lovely and helpful.

There was no hand soap (or any other toiletries) in the bathroom, other than the towels.

Swallow Barn was well equipped, in a great location and very cosy. The hosts were kind and helped us out in finding some great walks and areas to explore. The barn is also private and feels very secluded, making it a perfect hideaway.

The only thing I have to say is the lack of natural light but this is due to the immediate neighbours, and the property is well lit artificially.

We stayed for a couple of nights to go on countryside walks with our beagles. The location was beautiful and not far from Buxton and Castleton too. Owners were lovely and very accommodating. Highly recommend.

Barn is cute and clean and It's in a fantastic location. We walked 12 miles on Saturday, just walked out the door and followed the public paths and hardly saw anyone (bliss). The church and cemetary is lovely and we found a old tomb in a field. The pub is also very nice and only at the end of the road. Dog friendly which is great 👍 owners live in the house next door and are super helpful and friendly.

The only thing I can suggest to improve is maybe just having a few more things inside the barn. Like some cooking oil and some sauces, just to make things easier as it's things you never think to bring when self catering for a couple of nights.
