"Cosy cottage in a lovely location"

8.0

Lovely location, the road by the cottage isn't busy and the views are open so you have a feeling of countryside. Characterful and quirky cottage, well kept and most importantly warm! We hit a spot of chilly wet weather and it was lovely to come back to a cosy cottage after damp walking. Lots of interesting villages in the area worth visiting as well as the moors of course. The cottage is extremely well-equipped - even a garlic press in the kitchen, hurrah! And we were very grateful for the washing machine as our stay was in the middle of a 12 day trip away from home. Bedding and towels were good quality.

The beds weren't brilliant for us but probably just different to what we're used to. I bailed out into the single upstairs which helped. As is often the case in old cottages, there are several potential head-bumping points - not just the one on the stairs which is highlighted - so it really wouldn't be suitable for anyone very tall. We managed! The shower was difficult to switch off but we informed the host and she is getting it sorted. So no complaints, just things to be aware of.

Place is lovely as are the owners. It's in a great location for exploring about too.

Be wary if you're on the tall side, some of the doorways will catch you out.

TO BE HONEST-NOTHING MUCH NOT TO LIKE-HITS THE SPOT

If I had to fine something i would say the main double bed. A little small for me and my wife and not the most comfortable. I must add we sleep in a Super King at home . I do believe all places lack SSSuper KKings !!! Its a must lol.

"Stunning stone cottage that's way bigger than you expect."

10.0

Claire the owner was warm and welcoming. The Cottage is perfect and has everything you need. The beds are very supportive and comfortable. The bath tub is enormous, the towels are fluffy and it was very clean. You can buy extra wood etc for the fire just around the corner but there were plenty for us. It's got a lovely sized garden for better weather but the snow made it very Christmasy. The pub is a minute on foot and the food was superb. You do have to duck coming down the stairs at one point and the stairs are steep but it's an old stone cottage. I highly recommend it and it's a great base for lots of surrounding attractions

Nothing to not like. It's very well equipped. I had to bottom shuffle as I'm not completely mobile for the stairs but it's an old cottage and it's to be expected. A light switch for the kitchen would have been good in the living room but that's nitpicking to be honest.
